One of the reasons why I liked Ranieri at first is because he was good with new players and used different tactics, generally playing good football at Chelsea and Valencia. But he hasn't lived up to the past in that respect here at Juventus.

It just lacks certain areas, but we play the style we do cause it cuts risk. Key thing about these big teams is they expect teams to sit back anyway. So even if they counter with the 4-4-2 we have enough cover to block most of there attempts.
Capello did it now Ranieri is with the formation yes it dosent seem to be working as well , buts its not that bad either. Capello had 11 guns Ranieri has 2 very old guns and 3 guns in there prime. Capello's Juve where more organised and disaplined. But Ranieri installs more heart. But yes Capello is more desperate for wins than Ranieri it seems.

The straight 4-4-2 doesn't provide more cover than the 4-3-3 or the 4-1-2-1-2. What you gain on the wings you lose in the center of the pitch. If it was me, I'd rather clog up the center of the pitch against Italian sides and have the more diverse attack. If we want to use the straight 4-4-2, we need to have the players to do so, which we don't, especially when we lack our only top real winger, Camoranesi. Nedved isn't a real winger and Marchionni just isn't good enough.

So why are we playing the straight 4-4-2? Are we really that inept of a side we have to resort to the most basic and repetitive formation all season long? We will never win anything if we use the straight 4-4-2 with Zanetti and Nocerino, or Nocerino and Sissoko, or any combination you want. If you use the straight 4-4-2, you need to either have players who can not only defend but also attack, or have one of the either specialize. Zanetti and Nocerino are both defensive-minded players. Vieira and Emerson are the example; great defensive players and great offensive players.

But this is something I've said countless times, yet people don't want to listen to me. We won't win anything playing like we have for most of this season. It's a fact.

Honestly, a bunch of members here don´t deserve to be fans of this great team. What do you call this behaviour of tonight, insulting everything you can remember? Shame on you. Go support other teams which are winning easily at the moment if you can´t take this kind of performances from Juve. This season will be hard and frustrating, but we all firmly in the 3rd place, above all odds. Bunch of crybabeis and gloryhunters, we want Van der Vaart, Ronaldinho, Diego, nothing less. Boo-hoo. Get a grip. Show some support to your team. We didn´t play well but at least we are fighting and if we manage to fight out throughout this season and manage to get a CL spot, things cannot get but better.

I've not even posted my thoughts on this game. That the team's performance was below par, is obvious. Molinaro, Nocerino, Tiago were very poor, but the rest of the players didn't do much better(DP and Legrottaglie are the exceptions). Ranieri made a lot of incorrect decisions today and the match preperation was lacking.

But when I see these pages filled with "Molinaro FUCK OFF FUCK OFF" etcetera, it gets on my nerves. This is a forum to discuss certain viewpoints, but that's just fruitless banter. Useless.

At the same time you put the focus of our lacklustre display on Tiago's substitution and Molinaro's poor form. Which is really shifting the focus. Tiago was rightfully subbed(though Ranieri put in the wrong subsitute) and Molinaro is just one part of 11 players. The oh-so untouchable Chiellini for example, has been getting worse every match since the Lazio game as well.

when the defender touches the ball first and then the player, it is considered a valid taclin and it is not a foul (penalty in the box)

First half the catania players really played like shit, all kind of little faults to break down the attack. Nocerino on right wing is not an option, he is not creative enough, Tiago did disappoint, but to put all fault with him I think is not the right way! Catania was playing catenaccio the whole match and we haven't got the creativity to do something against it...

The second half, Marchionni was giving more pressure on the right wing and also Brazzo did come more often. Indeed like I read above, Molinaro was playing like shit, none of his passes came by the first defender... And we really haven't got a backup for him, we shouldn't have left Criscito on loan with Genoa!

The people who blame Ranieri aren't true fans I think, the coach always get the first blame for it when it goes bad, but when it goes good, its all due to the players?? Ranieri opted for another elaboration, but it didn't work today, on defensive duty's Molinaro was not so bad, Nocerino on the other side was like an open door... All the pressure of the Catania attack came on his right side!

I'm not happy with this result (and play), but some of the fans must realize that we come from far far dawn ! We can't become the Juvé of 3-4 years ago within just a half year. Just be a little more realistic ! We haven't got the team non players to win the scudetto I think. There is a huge gap between the base team and the bench on some positions ! Man!! That was 1 shitty game by us. U know, Ive tried to defend Molinaro so much this season but the dude seriously makes it hard. The number of times he got into a good position to cross and absolutely wasted it were just too many. And it made me angry esp in the 2nd half that the team always seemed to spread the ball to the left were he was then knowing in advance that things would break down.......All in all, we need a better LB, much better
