for all the optimism there is this current season, it might be a bit sobering to realise that we only have +1 points if you compare the games we played this year with the ones played last year (obviously substituting the demoted with the promoted).
That's good to note. Thanks.

Remember, last season we started to head into trouble around the Bayern match, late November into December. Need to guard against that this year.

Obviously, this was no way to do that.

Not that we deserved the 3 points tonight, but the way in which we threw them away really is unacceptable.

Is it really that difficult for us to play 2 decent or good games a week?

Storari 6 - Not much to do.
Motta 5 - The usual
Bonucci 5,5 - Almost decent.
Chiellini 6 - Ok
Grosso 6 - Fairly good game. Who would have thought it?
Pepe 5 - Mediocre.
Sissoko 5 - Some good moments. And some embarassing ones.
Aquilani 4,5 - Worst player on the pitch.
Marchisio 5,5 - Under par. But still vital.
Del Piero 5,5 - A few nice moments but not enough.
Quagliarella 7 - Good game.

Iaquinta 6 - Some valuable input.
Lanzafame -
Salihamidzic -

Actually, last year we started the season with 4 wins out of 4 and 12 pts. For comparison, we started this season with only 4 pts in the first 4 rounds and after 11 rounds we're better than last year.

Indeed, late November-early December is when we were completely dismantled, but it was in early October when we started losing a lot and when it became obvious that it's not gonna be a happy season. This year it's not the case, although the team we have does not promise much and there is a reason to be afraid that this team can miss out on CL again.

Below average game and below average performance, although we could have nicked it but for Diamanti's intervention, even if it was a draw game really.

Damn these provincial enigmas showing up against us.

I don't really know what you guys are expecting when we have no players. I mean, is this really shocking? Without Krasic we have no attack, let alone without half the team. We did enough to win our 3rd in a row except for a wonder goal by Diamanti. It was just unfortunate.

Personally, I'd like to get Motta and Grosso up the field and play at a faster pace against these smaller teams but I'm not going to kill myself over this draw.

This could very well have been a fundamental game tonight.
Now it will be do or die against Roma and I don't fancy our chances.

But i'm not talking about the points we've gained after the first 11 matches, i'm talking vs the teams we've played already this year, substituting those demoted, for those promoted.

let me try to give some ratings

storari - 6.0 did save what he had to, but not more
motta - 5.0 being his useless self as ever... surely more than 60% of his passes were misplaced
bonucci - 6.0 did cope with the attacking threat relatively well (difficult to tell if its his or mottas fault, when there are many throughballs played on the right)
chiellini - 6.5 the better one of our centre halfs even when i wished that he would have jumped a bit on the goal we conceded, because he would certainly have the shot deflected over the goal (melo would have eaten that ball^^)
grosso - 7.0 - he was surely better defensively than de ceglie ever can be, but had his weak moments (due to lack of match fitness) but on the other hand had 4 really great crosses, that sadly our strikers could only convert once into a goal
pepe - 6.0 tried and tried again, but that is not enough .. had very low impact offensively but did help in the defense very often
aquilani - 5.0 too careless when in possession
sissoko - 5.0 - i don't think someone that just graduated from college would be able count up to the number of misplaced passes he made today ... awful !
marchisio - 6.5 did get involved in the attack as in the defense equally but his positioning could have been better to help spread the play when he had to play on the right
quagliarella - 7.0 just because the goal and the involvement, even if he could have added another one on several occasions
del piero - 6.0 was short of ideas today, but at least he did not do those stupid backheel-flick-ons today ... a very quiet evening for him, when you might have thought that the small pitch would benefit him

lanzafame - 5.0 had no impact at all
salihamidzic - 5.5 was involved more but clearly lacking match sharpness
iaquinta - 6.0 did run as usual and created one dangerous chance which quag should have burried
