Let's be realistc guys...Our objectiv this year is 4th place and not the scudetto... Inter is 2 games down and still has 2 point lead...so do the math...Maybe Tiago will play now (after the derby) more, against smaller teams...I hope so...

The Derby as i expect it...Just to bad that we didn't took capital on Milan's poorly foorm...

Ref was ok apart from the yellows and the fact we couldn't get a call in Milan's ½.

    Agreed.

Its not that i hate Ranieri but...what`s the deal with Tiago?C`mon he`s fu*king ruining him...
I don't think Tiago had a role to play tonight. Our central midfielders were doing an excellent job and with Milan having most of the possession in the second half we couldn't sacrifice one of our fighters for Tiago. I definitely hope to see him in the next game though.

Inter's 2games are with [Fiorentina and Lazio] I can't see them taking all six there. And I'm pretty sure of that.

And to aim for a 4th place you should aim for the Scud aswell, you can't aim for 4th place and leave Inter running alone. You keep catching them this way you'll secure the 4th place;)

No need to blame ref tonight and if there`s got to be someone it should be stinkerman.
    You thief :D

some team from Belgrade was winning 2-1 but was getting screwed by the ref and they decided to leave the pitch and risks losing 0-3.

Ok well i`d have to agree with that.Zanetti and Nocerino did great tonight but still he should`ve gotten chance weeks back. Its not just about tonight, its like that every week man...

he defended well and kept some very good players quite. if we had more creative midfielders creating chance after chance no one would care about his poor passing.

our priority signings should not be a left back but diego or vdv and maybe ivanovic
yeah i agree there his distribution was poor but he seems to be developing defensively

Ranieri admires Juve grit Saturday 1 December, 2007

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Claudio Ranieri was content with Juventus’ aggressive and determined approach in the 0-0 draw away to Milan.

“I am happy with the character we showed against the reigning champions of Europe. Milan do not deserve their current position in the table,” said the Coach.

He had hinted at a trident attack, but left Alessandro Del Piero on the bench for a 4-4-2 system.

“Vincenzo Iaquinta was having problems because he was closed down by Kakha Kaladze and Alessandro Nesta. He is good at sacrificing his own performance for the team in finding space, even if he doesn’t have Del Piero’s technique.

“We tried to get the victory at the end and I thought with Ale, Raffaele Palladino and Marco Marchionni we’d manage it at the end. To play here with a trident would have been a real gamble.”

Juventus are still in the Scudetto race and have now drawn all four of their meetings with the other big clubs.

“When you take on Inter and Milan, you feel the strength of your opponents. Fiorentina are growing, while Roma have the characteristics and quality to be a title contender. As for us, every game is a test.”

Ranieri was asked about the many transfer rumours circulating around the Bianconeri ahead of the January window.

“This summer we tried to sign players who would fit into the existing group. There are players who are a little late in gelling completely, but I believe in them all,” added the former Chelsea boss.

“I don’t think we’ll bring anyone in during January. I also believe in Tiago and Sergio Almiron, two players with great potential.”

    The game :

We much better in the first half and when you manage to create chances against Milan at San Siro , you better talke them . That in my opinion cost us the 3 points , we could create more chances than Milan and rightfully deserved the win but simply couldn't convert the chances to goals .

It was more even in the second half and I think If Ranieri went for a trident attack in the last 30 mins it would have made a big difference . The subs were predictable and therefore not dangerous . They aren't going to make a big impact because they were still going ti play the same 4-4-2 formation . The offside trap should be played better and could have cost us the game on a few occasions . In attack we were much better than Milan who depended on high through balls that were boring and repetitive . We were more creative than Milan .

    Player Ratings :

Buffon 8.5 A perfect game for him , made no mistakes , he was excellent on every ocassion .

Legro 6 : I think he had a very good first half with very little mistakes . However , these little mistakes could have easilly cost us the game . Especially the Gila tug , with the luck we're getting from the refs that could have very well been a penalty .

Chiellini 8.5 : He made Ibra his bitch when we played Inter , and now he made the best player in the world his little bitch . This guy is our future leader . The guy is 22 years old and he led our defense , he made Kaka disappear . A skillful leader that plays with such heart and determination every single game .

Molinaro 6.5 : He is good played but still needs a lot of improvement . His finishing is nowhere near where it needs to be , his crossing is terrible . He played a good game defensively .

Zebina 5.5 : You don't fall on your ass against Milan and make a fool out of yourself if you want to play for Juve . I don't trust this guy , never will .
Where does Juve find players like Boumsong and Zebina ? They are mistakes just waiting to happen .

Nocerino 7.5 : It's clear why Ranieri keeps starting this guy . No , he is not overrated at all . He had a better game than Gatusso , he created all kinds of problems for Pirlo . He was crucial in today's game .

Zanetti 9 : My MOM is this guy , he gets the extra grade over Chiellini because of how he stood up to a frustrated Gatusso . He showed no fear , he dominated the midfield , gave a brilliant chip to Trez in the first half and made Gatusso look like a kitten . Who would have know this guy would turn out to be our best midfielder ?

Nedved 7.5 I likes his efforts and his energy , he assisted Molinaro with a wonderful pass . He also came came back and helped defensively . He kind of disappeared during the second half , I expected a better performance in the second half from him but it wasn't entirely his fault .

Sali 7 : good game , good shot in the second half . Nothing other than that .

Trezeguet 6 : His job is to score goals and be the lethal striker that he is but he was in part unlucky and also seemed distracted . Molinaro's cross/shot should have been anticipated from a player like Trez . He didn't get much support and tried his best in helping his team in counterattacks .

Iaquinta 5.5 : Not too good today , didn't really pose a threat to Milan . He should have gone out earlier .

Ranieri 7 : I think he read the game better than Ancelotti and Juve were tactically superior to Milan tonight . His flaw however was that he didn't want to take any risks , I think a trident in the second half could have turned the game around . He waned to play for the draw and that's unfortunate because Juve really stood a good chance to take home the 3 points .

    MATCH:

Thoughts on Milan vs Juventus? Not much to think about. We started off with a basic 4-4-2. At first I thought, like many others, that Sali shouldn't be on the right flank. I also thought that we should have put more creativity in the midfield, but I was satisfied with what Ranieri chose.

It started off well, there was a few chances and it looked up for the rest of the game. I remember the commentator actually saying we could be in for a treat today. In the first half I saw Nocerino and Nedved run all over the pitch. Nedved in particular was a beast. He won a ball, passed it to Cristiano and ran into space to get a cross in. We came very close to scoring but Dida matched it. Defending was great from us.

Second half came, I wanted to see something more from us in the creativity department and we did when Sali blasted a shot at Dida who made a good save. Ranieri should have made subs around the 60 minute mark. He didn't, Ancelotti did though and that was when Milan improved. They scored a goal which was correctly ruled as offside and Buffon put in a few decent saves. Ranieri left his substitutions way too late, they didn't have enough time to get into the game.

A paragraph about one Milan player, by the name of Ambrosini. 90 minutes was all it took for me to find dislike for him. He was constantly fouling our players with a high foot, studs showing, pulling shirts and pushing them on headers. I am amazed he didn't get booked. He didn't even play good, and he still was a cocky shit running all over the pitch. Then, when he was touched, he went down like a sack of potatoes winning a free kick. Fuming.

    PLAYER RATINGS:

Buffon - 8 - He made really important saves, and damn they were good. Superman saved us today. Really.

Molinaro - 5 - A headless chicken when he got into the oppositions half. Im not sure why I saw him kick a ball at Pirlo when he had a simple option of passing to Zanetti. The sooner we can replace him, the better. Balzaretti in this game would be a dream.

Chiellini - 8 - He completely took Kaka out of the game. There was little room for the Brazilian and if Giorgio keeps that up, he is a starter in the summer of 2008. This guy is the rock of our defense. All he needs to do know is not get booked so often.

Legrotagglie - 6.5 - He was nice and solid. Gila was offside countless times, good game apart from his yellow

Zebina - 7 - Played nicely. Got to balls first and made the right side for us, look okay. If only he had Camo...

Nedved - 8.5 (Man of the match) - He was all over the place. He contributeed to defending, passing the ball upfield and in the final third he put in shots. He made Oddo look invisible. There was no reason to take him off, he was creative, setting up chances and putting the opposition in their place. 2 great performances, 2 man of the matches.

Zanetti - 7.5 - This guy is consistently great for us. I think he does hi job in the centre brilliantly and all that. Its a shame he doesn't distribute balls, because then he would be the perfect midfielder.

Nocerino - 8 - He played like more of a terrier then Gennaro today. He too was all over the pitch, constantly using his strength to work his magic. He even tried setting himself up for a shot. He wants to prove a point.

Sali - 6 - Not much to say on him. He didn't put in any crosses, he didn't run a lot. Only high was the shot he had.

Iaquinta - 6.5 - Not really in the game. He is great in the air, he didn't get balls to him in the air. He played better last week when he had Camo's ball in for him, we know what he needs.

Trezeguet - 7 - Lethal shot. He was the better of our attackers but still, there wasn't enough balls in for them.

Del Piero - 5 - Not enough game time to judge more, and he was crowded out.

Marchionni - 6 - Linked up with Jonathan well a few times. He NEEDS to cross.

Palladino - 5 - He was very quiet. There wasn't enough space for him to run.

Ranieri - 6 - Not a creative set up, and the subs were far too late. He took off our best player and as a result, he did nothing to help us push for a goal. We need crosses, and loads of them. They were essential today.

All in all, we should have won. Much more was needed for attacking, crosses and creativity being the 2 essential things. We need Nocerino/Zanetti to go forward more or a Tiago like player in the centre. I don't really see two defensive, winning-the-ball type centre midfielders working a whole lot with no crossing. Tiago is what we never knew we had, he needs a chance, someone attacking minded. Trez and Vincenzo hunger for balls into them, the lack of them cost us what could have been 3 points today.

I also hope the board bring back some youngsters out on loan currently. I would choose Giovinco or De Ceglie, maybe Marchisio. Something more attacking though. They would be free aswell.

We were better defensively, then attackingly today. Camoranesi was missed.

And apart from the fact that Milan got all calls in our half.
Still we have to give him a credit for not giving penalties to Milan. The refs from Cagliari, Napoli, Parma and Fiorentina match would have given Milan two penalties if they were in Morganti's place.

Just saw the highlights. We are lucky to have Gigi but we had 3 great situations to score. Trezeguet hitting the post, Dida's superb save on Brazzo's great shot and then Del Piero making an extra move where he was clear to shot.
3 great oportunities is actually the maximum any team can expect to have at San Siro. We can't attack our guys for not creating enough. We were simply unlucky not to score from the chances we created.
