I think Alves wasn't at Barca, when Zambrotta went there.
Indeed. Damn, stuff like this make me realise how old I am.

However, when Barca got Thuram and Zambrotta from us, I thought that alongside their world class attack, they would conquer Europe for the next 5 years. For some reason (probably called Rijkaard) none of those succeeded.

In general, all our world class players that left us when we went down failed, or at least none reached their previous heights, which should be an example to whoever wants to leave us (Zlatan wasn't a world class player back then, just a raw kid).

Most were veterans though. If calciopoli had not happened that squad would probably have needed a revamp quite soon too.
