We are too inconsistent ourselves otherwise we would have been leading the table next away game vs sassuolo might end our hopes.
I agree, but we have been less inconsistent than our competition in the last 25 games or so. And even with that horror start, a win against Inter would have put us -1 from them, and then I would have loved to see the race with them until the end.

Either way, we can just have regrets at this point.

For Serie A? Obviously Allegri. Unless you’re talking about the CL in the Serie A thread.
Ancelotti won titles in Italy, Germany, England, France, and will soon add Spain to the list. He's won everything there is to win at club level.

They don't even play in the same position.
Traore is being deployed on the wing, scoring goals and providing assists. It's true that he can be utilized as a CM (his original position), but it seems he's actually better on the flanks. He's exactly the type of player we need - he possesses pace, is direct, can score and provide assists.

4 batches of games ended our title hopes.. better results in any of those, would have seen us literally competing for the title..

- First 2 games: draw to Udine (after 2-0 lead) and loss to Empoli
- Consecutive losses to Sass and Verona in Oct.
- Consecutive draws to Torino and Atlatna in Feb.
- lack of wins vs. the top 3 teams (for now) esp. the last game vs. Inter (FUCK Irrati, FUCK VAR, FUCK FIGC)

It was the match against Inter. Losing points against outsiders happens from time to time. Everyone loses points against these teams. We fucked up against the top 3, where we didn't win even one of the 6 matches.
Despite that, we would have been seriously in the scudetto race had we won against Inter last Sunday (Milan 68, Napoli 66, Juve 65, Inter 63 and a match less than the others).
Agreed. Makes it difficult to get over the bad refereeing and luck we faced.

His league record is actually pretty poor.

i'm worried about 4th place .
We should get that. Roma have Napoli away and Inter away in the next two rounds and two more away matches against Fiorentina and Torino. If we beat Bologna, Genoa and Venezia, we'll most probably secure top 4 even if we lose all three against Sassuolo, Lazio and Fiorentina.
Inter will be champions. Piss easy schedule for them. Their win against us settled everything.

Just one more favourable round to us and this scudetto race is going down to the wire.

No Italy at the WC, no Italians in the CL now, us not making the quarters in CL for a few seasons, it's indicative of where Italian football is on the world stage.

England lack the finesse and top level talent to win a major tournament but the PL has been developing a lot. Even if you take out the foreign superstars, the core English players have understood that fitness, pace, power and pressure are key and the next generation are pretty decent.

England never lose to second tier teams and trash minnows, Italy don't. Italian football failings can't be masked by Juventus buying top talent, this was inevitable and on the CL stage, it's clear that Spanish and even Portuguese ligas are progressing rapidly. Ciro Immobile is the best example of this, a boss for Lazio but hopeless internationally.
