IMO Berardi is a very direct, shoot first-think later player who relies a lot on instinct. For all the talk Allegri gives about freedom in the final third, imo he's not a fan of these types of players (Berna used to have a similar approach and was getting comments like "this is not Fiorentina" from Allegri) and Max prefers smarter, more calculated players or, as Allegri would put it, players who play with "serenity"

Yes he is very direct. I wouldn't characterize him as a "shoot-first think-later" kind of player though. Every possession in the opponents half he is trying to create a scoring chance, through shooting or passing/crossing.

In the end he is the highest assister in the league this season with 10.

We miss this trait, whether its Berardi or anyone else, a player that looks to create scoring chances more directly. Vlahovic is a huge help with that. Morata is afraid of shooting and Bernardeschi has forgotten how to to shoot. Chiesa, Vlahovic, and Dybala are great for this, but we could use another assist creator.
