sarri's wage is around 1,4-1,5m reportedly, so he should cost napoli around 3m a season. he still has 2 years left of his contract, so he's expected to cost napoli around 6m until his contract runs out. since his 8m clause expired, and not a single club was willing to meet this clause, he's only napoli's problem, it's a mutual interest to end the contract. should napoli play the hard ball with sarri in case the coach has offers, they might risk to lose money. i'd be very calm if i was sarri: in worst case, he won't take an other job and get paid with 1,5m/year when basically being on holiday.

it's just a game of power adl the narcissist loves so much to play.
Sarri has one year not two on his contract and he is the one that has everything to lose, maybe next year he doesnt get as good as offer as Chelsea's and has to settle for the likes of Zenit.

How can he be calm when he is reportedly losing far more lucrative opportunities? Sarri is at fault here, you can't expect people to be understanding when you yourself'aren't. Also i respect ADL for always negotiating from a position of strength.
what can adl gain from this situation?

they might be wrong of course.

once in a lifetime opportunities for coaches are pretty rare. it's not like moyes at manutd or ferrara at juve. sarri has built himself a reputation and he's hyped around the continent, i'm sure he'll get plenty of offers next year, especially if blanc fails at chelsea (as expected).

Why is Sarri at fault? Do we know that he wanted to leave i thought adl sacked him out of anger over 2nd place

Or i am not some weak bitch that can be strung along, if i tell you to give me an answer about your future by a certain date, you better.

adl had ancelotti on speed dial since the beginning of may, when the season hasn't even finished. then he replaces his coach because... because of what exactly? but still won't terminate his contract despite the mutual interest, just because he can. typical adl: huge drama, small minded decision. not a single rational manager would keep a practically fired coach on the club's payroll just to make a point.

also, did sarri brake his contract? no, because in that case, he would be fired, not only replaced.

i can imagine two reasons behind all this. first is that firing sarri and paying his severance would cost around the same than keeping his contract alive. or adl just wants to milk chelsea.

Doesn't contradict what i said, sarri wouldn't commit and he's not going to give Chelsea any gifts.

I find it hard to believe this situation could benefit ADL in the long run. A team like Napoli needs agents, players, coaches way more than they need Napoli.
Napoli doesn't need raiola type agents

that makes sense in a way, but that's not about making a point, it's purely about money.

"sarri wouldn't commit" - meanwhile, the club lined up ancelotti to replace him a month ago, so the club wouldn't commit either. i can't judge the situation, i can't tell whose commitment was weaker, i just have a feeling that it was meant to end now either way, but adl can't just simply let go like professionals do. he's the unquestionable drama queen of italy. he does his salty press tours all the time a player or a coach leaves him. adl gonna adl. let's see where it gets him.

Sarri is an old dude, for him either his next team is a big one or its likely that he might retire trophyless. In his position and age I wouldnt be happy to sit doing nothing, look at Conte f.e., he probably wont have a job next season and that guy has three times the CV compared to Sarri, not easy to land a job in a top team

Then again ADL might be fucking up as well, if Chelsea doesnt pay and look elsewhere, he loses a lot of money just to prove a point

The season just ended and there has already been two Inter players saying Inter can beat us to the title :lol2:
When will they ever learn?

At least it seems like Roma learned.
