Nah buffon didn't really play in the nineties
I saw his debute as 17 year old vs Milan, one of the most wtf moments at the time, seeing a kid just stop everything in its way.

The things he won that you listed
Play = win now? If so, only a short list of players who played football.

Its odd argument too, because as big of a legend Totti is, pretty much ALL his best seasons are after 00-01 season. Was at his best from early 00s to nearly 2010.

Was that my argument? I was simply answering his which brought things he won as supporting evidence. Listen the criteria is not set you are free to consider whoever you want as being part of the best generation of serie a, we are not taking about empirically verifiable data, it is all opinion.

Gigi became more of an Icon later, but he is defenitely part of the 90s generation still. And I wasnt even about the different criterias (and yeah sounded like you were dismissing Gigi as 90s generation cuz he didnt win much?), you used the literal word Buffon didnt really play in the 90s. Highly illogical statement from the top to bottom on that alone.

Buffon "didn't really play in the 90s." Not empirically verifiable data. #AlternativeFacts

I guess it's impossible to verify his debuting in Serie A in 1995-96, becoming a starter in 1996-97 and playing 177 matches for Parma from 95-96 to 99-00, a Parma who finished above Totti's team in 3 of those 5 seasons and was a far more successful team than Roma in the 90s (finished above them 7 out of 10 years, and won 7 trophies to Roma's 1 - Buffon 3 to Totti 0). Also Buffon made his first Italy appearance in 1997 in the World Cup Qualification Playoffs against Russia, and was called up for 1998 world cup. Totti didn't make his Italy debut until Euro 2000 qualifiers.

But Totti is part of that generation and Buffon isn't. :baus:

As said previously, Totti is a huge icon for calcio, but pretty much all his best seasons came after 2000.

Why not embolden the word really instead? Did Ronaldo really play before he made it to man u?

Yes he did hehe, even if it was just a bit. I'm hardly being pedantic when I say we can't just complete change the meaning of play (wether the word really is in front of it or not) like we can read your mind to "not famous yet".

And that's only true for teenage pre Man U Cristiano. Young Gigi played 5 years in the 90s, most of that at top level, key starter for a team that kept challenging us to scudetto. If it wasn't so we wouldn't signed him for an insane record sum.

This is truly pointless to continue, you made a false statement. Let's just move on.

I explained what my statement meant, you are free to ignore my explanation and interpret it any way you like.

Also to the cute lifeless pansies who follow me around: good dog

You stubbornly tried to changed the goal post so many times in a page and half. When it was covered with arguments backed by sheer reality of the facts, instead of just own up to it or drop it, you prefer to stubbornly get entrenched further and blame people for misunderstanding the literal meaning of the words. Odd.

I guess we all can have our little Trump moments.

P. S Has little to do who considers who as the real 90s Calcio generation / icon, but more this is oddly dishonest way to discuss something simple.
