Farewell totti, it's always nice to see a player remain at one club and there's far few who can proudly say that. From benatia, dybala to allegri they have tweeted their respects to this poor old man. RIP

Farewell Francesco, the last of the legendary four: Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Del Piero, Javier Zanetti and now Francesco Totti. The end of a quarter century Roma. What a beautiful farewell for the Emperor of Rome. Where is heart is and always will be, pictured in a AS Roma maglia.

All the jokes about him were funny, but you can't hate him as a footballer. What he has done for his city, his club, the country ... it's unpayable, it is morally invaluable.

Farwell Francesco Totti!

Man, I'll miss Totti. Another part of my childhood died today. Not sure if I'll miss that or the player.

He hung around too long but obviously pros don't want to give up playing, especially if they are the colours of your own club.

Fantastic player at his best, which lasted for a long time. Always enjoyed the Totti vs Del Piero comparisons and fabricated battles from the late 90s onward, who would wear the #10 for Italy. Always seemed an overblown argument but they never did quite find the balance to get both on the field. Off the field they always had a good relationship.

Never really a big fan of his personality, too much Roma rubbed off on him, it forced him to make little bitch comments to defend his city. Fair enough. But he knew he was as dumb as a rock and played on it well.

My favourite goal of his was the cucchiao against Inter:

Although his left foot volleys against Sampdoria and Udinese were more spectacular.

Can't deny that team in 2001 with Cassano, Montella, Batistuta and Delvecchio was a brilliant attacking side.

The odd thing is that even if neither was really Italy's big man in 2006, their talent was still an integral part of that success.

I believe Totti kept on playing for so long because apart from his skill as a football player he doesn't really have much other qualities in life. I mean, I'm sure he's a great guy and I don't want to sound harsh, but what is out there for him now, realistically speaking?

On the betting sites it's being picked up that Empoli - Palermo is rigged and that Empoli will eventually score to win, certainly looks like that following the play.

It's because Empoli need to win to stay up, obviously, but also Palermo will get €15m if they lose this game because if Crotone stay up instead of Empoli because the way relegation money is divided between clubs who have stayed up for 2 or more years they don't want Empoli to go down instead as they'd have to split money between themselves and Crotone, who don't qualify for this parachute payment.

We all know that Totti has a huge ego but he was one of Serie A stars of golden age. I will remember him for the amazing plays and for friendship with Ale, not for bullshit he used to tell.
Arrivederci Francesco.

Empoli hit the post, absolute sitter.

Crotone are beating 10-man Lazio 3-1 so that one is probably over. All on this game.

Even better, Palermo's keeper (Fulignati) is from Empoli

Palermo 2-0. Absolute gift by some dumb fuck in midfield, leaves the keeper stranded.

At one point Palermo were 17-1 to win this game on Betfair.

Empoli score, 2-1.

Wow lol, the Palermo keeper was just standing there, then he quickly gives the ball back to restart play. Surely not...

Some lad on one betting group has £900,000 on Empoli to win this game, lol.

Empoli miss a good chance for 2-2.
