We definitely need good midfielders.I hope Beppe doesnt do a Hernanes again.Whats up with this constant, from season to season, scenario where you have a lead and let opponents create instead of trying to maintain possesion ...we let Fiorentina and much worse teams to get back into the game.I am tired of that kind of mentality.That will fuck up some serious CL games.
The story of two sides again and again, how we transform from a very fine football team to a mediocre, ugly, boring side once we step off the gas and sit back. To think that we have done that many times during Conte and during Allegri and that we paid for it on numerous occasinos it's about time we learned our lesson. There are a lot of things to complain about other than the mentality of sitting back when in the lead but it's still the first match and I will leave that until later if it continues to be there. Good reaction on the equaliser and good that Higuain scored the winner, it's really important for both the team and him.
One thing I really don't like is the song the fans are singing for Higuain, it is the same one they did for Amauri

I'll excuse the conserving energy thing a little bit considering that this was the first game and we pressed really hard first half, but ultimately if you just kick the ball back to the opposition eventually they will get a chance. That's what they had, one chance and it was enough.
Anyway, this team will get a lot better and fitter. What we saw first half is more what I expect when the team has at least 70 mins in it.
Asamoah MOM. Fantastic to see him back looking so sharp. Khedira paced himself well and was the same level, as was Dani Alves. That personality, quality and experience counts.

Very important win and even more than that VERY important goal for Gonzalo imo.
He's under alot of pressure because of that move,choice,the price,his weight....was SO happy to see him score and it was the winner.

still think we need another mid however.
- meh game especially the second half. We took our foot off the pedal way too early and almost got punished for it. I think its about time we start to completely demolish teams. We have the squad for that and it will give Juve a whole different fear factor and aura going into games.
-Khedira or Asa as MOM for me. Khedira scored a great header and the rebound from his shot was Higuain's goal (even though he was a bit slow in shooting). Asamoah made our best runs in the opposition box, had some nice dribbles at speed and picked out good final passes (2nd goal) and was good defensively too. He was our most active player at the end when everyone else seemed to relax a bit. He is back
- the midfield as a unit was not good. We barely created any chances or did any combos and were poor in possession. A lot of back passing around the defense. The lack of a distributor was apparent in the game. I hope its different when Pjanic takes marchisio's role. There were many attempts at passes from defense straight to attack bypassing the entire midfield and a lot of those were intercepted.
- The subs were very defensive and way too confident from Allegri for my liking. If Higuain hadn't caught that bouncing ball we would be looking at a draw against a poor fiorentina imo. Did we play 4-5-1 when evra came in?
Evra, Sandro and Asa are three LWBs on the left side we are so loaded in quality on that position its insane

The commentators made a good point, discussing if it was the players who were played so deep by the opposition or if it was indeed Allegri who instructed the team to sit deep and basically let Fiorentina come back into the game.
If it was the latter, im tired of those coward tactics by Allegri. If we want to get to that Barca, Bayern, Real level we have to go for 3-4 goals. Its a disgrace at times that a team this talented let leads slip like that.
