Great win today. Hernanes lost the ball in the dangerous area again today. Good thing the rats didn't make the most of that chance. Last month he lost the ball against Spurs and Lamela scored:

Also what's up with Dani Alves kept roaming around the pitch and others had to track back for him?

Slick first half, could and should have been up by 2 goals or more.

Meh second half, sat back (due to tactics and lack of match fitness) and got punished by Violas only attempt on target, Higuain scores 10 mins after coming on. Close game out.

Pjanic didn't play as a precaution. Lemina was OK, a bit iffy with his long passing, but generally OK in short passing and defensive duties, had a couple of good shots on target at the end. Prefer him in the mezz'ala role.
Thanks for the feedback, have we started with close to our best eleven? I suspect to have us having at least Higuain and Pjanic to be at our starting eleven, off course. What can we still expect from the current squad? To be honest, I was not entitled to have much time to see much of the practice games so I am still seeking my old form in watching and figuring our squad today

I was in Florence a month ago. In every bar in town they had the 4-2 score over Juve three years ago hanging like a Champions League trophy. Guess when you have no notable trophies to speak of as a club you have to hang on to something.

Bravo Pipita for goal - but i don't like that he isn't working in defence.
Higuain may not do so well pressuring but he does a fine job covering the safety valve which can be effective. Guarentee he has a few goals from anticipating bad back passes.

I think we have the players we need to be successful, it's about combining them right. Lemina did well as a defensive mid, he took some decent shots towards the end, but he wasn't there to be creative. Asa did well picking up stray balls and passing, but not creative. Khedira was creative and scored a great goal, hopefully his leg doesn't give out next week. Higuain did what he's supposed to and finished. He wasn't amazing, but did his job adequately for first game. I don't feel that we are missing pogba from this team, we have lots of crosses from each side. Mid could be more creative, but that is more of a luxury than necessity. Sandro made a few errors but he is still learning and will get there. I saw dybala back too much sometimes, I like the effort, but he needs to be upfront more in order to give us that spark. Hernanes was The worst thing on two legs to ever wear a jersey. I hate him. If he interested in seeing pjaca in the midfield as an attacking player, but he is young and allegri should do the dybala on introducing him. He will get there. My .02 we did well and only an error with that one goal. good start to season!!
Lemina is playing in a critical position so be conservative is only natural at the beginning. Asamoah did well but as u said he needs to be creative and Max is pushing him in that direction so if he stays fit he would get there. Khedira is a beast and we know It. Higuain did what he needs to do, score in a difficult game so he did his job. AS is a beast, he could learn from Alves and he needs to play a lot more with Asa and magic will happened. Hernanes did what Hernanes does, I really donar know why Max have so much faith in him.

We won't reach our full potential until everyone employed by the club doubles down on treating us like a global team that happens to operate in Italy, not an Italian team that has a global following. The world is one village now and Italy is but a street in it. We must set our eyes on the global prize, like RMD BRC MUN. Just look at how these teams are received (Teams that belong to the world). We are perceived as the best Italian team, but rarely anything more. Our mindset must change. Having said that I acknowledge we are improving in that regard, but I can't help but think we ought to do a better job at it.

Note: Winning CL 2 times and reaching semi-final 3 times in the next 5 years would be a good start.

Solid start to the season.

Positives:

Asabob bossing the midfield, Lemina's play, and Higuain scoring after coming on.

Negatives:

Conceding and deploying a conservative approach at times, Hernanes being on the pitch, and Bernandeschi's new hairstyle and hair color making him look like Martina Navratilova (all he was missing were a pair of spectacles).
