Zebina unfazed by Roma return
Wednesday 2 March, 2005
Juventus defender Jonathan Zebina insists the hostile Olimpico crowd won’t affect his performance against former club Roma on Saturday.

Zebina is expected to receive a hot reception from the Giallorossi faithful, after he quit the capital club for their great rivals in the summer.

But the Frenchman believes that he – plus fellow ‘traitors’ Emerson and Fabio Capello – will be able to handle the pressure.

"We expect to receive a few whistles but we are professionals and nothing will be able to affect our performances," he stated.

"This isn’t exactly a normal week for me and I admit that I’ll be a little more nervous than usual.

"I spent four years in Rome and I have many happy memories. I enjoyed some exceptional times there and they are still in my mind.

"I admittedly also had a few difficult moments but that all helped me to mature."

Zebina was often heavily criticised by some sections of the Roma fans, leading to the general feeling that he was happy to have ended his relationship with the outfit.

"I never said that I wasted four years at Roma. I simply stated that playing for Juve made it easier for me to win international recognition," he added.

The former Cagliari stopper, who left Roma on a free transfer once his contract expired, is also confident that his side can come away with the three points.

"We are all in good shape and playing against Roma will give us a boost on the eve of the Real Madrid Champions’ League tie," he noted.

"The squad is calm about the game because at the end of the day that is all it is. I don’t think it will be nasty out there.

"Our trident attack could be our main weapon," he added. "If we can find the right balance then it becomes easier for the team to play. After all, the best form of defence is attack."

Capello could field a 4-3-3 system, with Alex Del Piero supporting both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcelo Zalayeta in attack.

David Trezeguet is expected to start on the bench after missing the last three games with illness.

stop totti, u stop roma
not really..they have fire power that could come out of nowhere ...Montella, Cassano, Mancini and then some. Yes shutting down Totti creates problems but it is not the end.

I will probably be at this game if anyone wants a souvenir :cheesy:

Stop both Totti and Cassano. 1 is a dangerous free-kick taker while the other is a goal-assisting machine. Montella isn't that hard to deal with, juz play the offside trap. Mancini is suspended.

We have to go all out to win this game. And Collina will be giving a lot of cards again

We Have To Beat Juve-Dacourt
3/2/2005 5:07:00 PM
AS Roma and France midfielder Dacourt has admitted he would welcome a move to Juventus, but only in exchange for something impossible. ”Me to Juve? Yes, if they give me the United States in exchange,” he said.

”It is a great team, that has won a lot, but I have a contract with Roma, and I intend to follow it through. But one never knows, nothing is certain in today’s world,” he added.

Dacourt also spared harsh words for those players and coaches that the Roma fans consider ‘traitors’: Capello, Zebina, Emerson, and goalkeeper coach Tancredi.

“They are professionals that have chosen to change team. They were here in Rome, now they are at Juve,” he said.
Who need ya @ss hole anyway...

I would play 3-4-3, Well actionly I don´t like a 3 men defence, but in this case, it will be important to have 3 , because roma has 3 attackers, and it could be very difficult to deal with these 3 (Totti, Cassano, Montella) ..
I hope this is the last time, we should play against a team with cassano.. next season he will be juventino ;)
