juve is a team of the present. not a team of the future . Every staff who signed a contract with this team should be able to deliver immedfiately. Even capello whole leading the teams towards 2nd scudetto in as many season with record breaking pace is not spared from ctisicm if should the team become everage, why should zlatan be given that much time? even mutu seem to become more effective than him with less developing time.

Now it is my turn to give a match report.

All it needs is just 20 minutes to finish off the game, with Trezeguet scoring a hattrick. The good old DP-Trez combination has once again worked wonders, with the latter finishing the chances provided, and DP creating chaos in the Ascoli defence. This is the quickest hattrick ever achieved by Trezeguet, and I really think that it is a brilliant decision to keep him as he has proven again how he is very dangerous to be in the penalty box. However for the Ascoli goal, I think that our players become complacent and thought that it is ok to win 3 - 0. However they made up for that mistake and never allow a repeat of it.

2nd half. Boring. Yet smart. The tempo is slow and it reminds me of the Parma home game last season, where we juz create some scoring chances, and that's it. For my further comments on this issue, I would write it under the gradings for Capello.

Buffon: Goal conceded not his fault, however ever since he stepped on, he seems to concede goals in almost every game compared to Abbiati. Have a lot of work to do. 6

Zebina: Is it because of his injury that he performed better? I really don't know. All I can say that is he is actually playing well and is dynamic. Good going forward as well, calm and skilled and even dribbled well. But 1 thing which bothers me is that he is hot and cold. Hope to see a more consistent Zebina this season. 6.5

Thuram: Ok game, goal conceded partly his fault. Thuram will be 34 this year. Sadly I think he is declining.6

Cannavaro: Solid as a rock, but should have been more tactful due to the Ascoli goal. 6

Zambrotta: He IS much better on the left. With his dynamic runs, this is the Zambrotta that we r all familiar with. Even though he let the Ascoli player get past him in the 1st half, he quickly get back to his defensive duties in the 2nd half and make the player invisible. Should have been labelled as the best LB of the world instead of the much hyped Roberto Carlos. 6.5

Camoranesi: Good and active match. Provided Two assists today, which is very good. He definitely has contributed to the game a lot. Surely an eventful day for him. If he were to make way for Marchionni, I would be sad. But too bad this is business. 6.5

Emerson: Solid as usual. This is the Emerson that we all want to see. 6.0 +

Vieira: Much better than his performance against Empoli. Needs to start more often to get back in shape. 6

Nedved: 1 of the most dynamic players on the pitch, as shown in the 1st half. Probably the team juz finished the game in just 20 minutes. Should I say that Nedved does has his charisma in the team?. He himself might not perform, but the team benefits from his presence. I have always shown faith in him that he is a leader on the pitch. This reminds me of the Czech Republic NT, where his dynamic performances have been inspirational for the team. Definitely deserved to be crowned the European Footballer of the year @ 2003 6.5

Del Piero: The old DP-Trez partnership has surfaced again, much to every1's delight. Involved in every attack that led to a goal, and assisted one. Very active and some nice moves, especially his contribution to the 2-0 was formidable. No wonder DP fans get so carried away about him. He really deserves to be a legend despite of his critics. 7.5

Trezeguet: Just stand there and score goals like hell. Man of the match. As I always say, he is surely 1 of the most underrated strikers in the world as he proves again how dangerous he is in the box. 8

Capello: Good game plan, I think he just tells his players to finish the game in the 1st half. After finishing 3 - 1 in the 1st half, I think he tells his players to treat the game as a training session and maintain the scoreline as fatigue will occur. Since Juventus will have a tough schedule ahead of them. If the players r too active and unfortunately met with a Materazzi-like tackle, it would be an awful injury. I think that Trez's substitution is to prevent him from getting injured and to prepare Zlatan for some fresh air, since Trez has a reputation of having legs made of glass. After all, the game has already finished, and Trez has performed his duties well.Sometimes Capello can be amazing. 7

Seriously, did you? Just look at the similarities.

A 'quick' summary of the match:

Glad to see us playing such a convincing first half, the first 20 minutes in particular . Some easy flowing combinations, nice for a change. Especially Del Piero and Trezeguet finding each other and leading the frontline, like they should. Ofcourse Ascoli's defence was chaos, but i'd still like to complement our attack for a job well done. A hattrick for Trezeguet within 20 minutes, must be the one of the quickist hattricks ever. The first half for the rest of the duration was quite open, with a pretty opportunistic Ascoli daring to attack. One lapse in concentration resulted in Ascoli's goal; Cannavaro and Thuram were late, Vieira couldn't keep up with Ascoli's Comotto and Zambrotta was out of position. After that though, we didn't allow Ascoli to create such chances anymore.

Second half was pretty uneventful in contrast to the first. We slowed down the tempo and killed off the match. It might not be the supporters choise of tactic, but the smarter tactic. With a busy schedule, preserving energy instead of going for more goals in an already won match is the best thing to do. Ascoli didn't get anymore shots at goal, though we created only a few chances ourselves. Subsitute Ibrahimovic was wasteful with the biggest chance of the second half; trying to control the ball instead of directly passing to the open Zalayeta. Oh well, few players are interested in coming on as a sub in these kind of matches.....

Though Ascoli was awful in defence, all in all a job well done and quite an easy day of work. I hope we keep it up.


Player ratings:

Buffon: Uneventful day, gave me the feeling of leading the defensive line well. Not at fault at the goal conceded. 6(hard to rate though)

Zebina: Quite impressed by him actually. Offers a lot of athletisisme, with his strength,agility and speed, to our aging central defence. Good going forward as well, calm and skilled and even dribbled well. Keep it up Zebina. 6.5

Thuram: Played a good match, but can't help but feel that age is catching up with him. His impressive moments sadly mix up with the lacklustre moments, such was the case at the goal conceded goal. Luckily did notice any real decline today. 6

Cannavaro: Played the way we know him. Could've done better, to prevent the 1-3 though. 6+

Zambrotta: He IS better on the left. There was something really familiar on seeing him on the leftside of the field with Zebina back on the right. A dynamic performance by Zambrotta today, bombed down the left well and active in the defence. Had a tough time with Foggia in the first half. He dealt pretty well with Foggia though, especially in the second half where Foggia didn't get to touch the ball anymore. 6.5

Camoranesi: Good and active match. I think Camo is having a good season, contrary to claims of certain pundits. He's had a few less impressive matches this season, but even the lesser matches have been decent. Two assists today, which means he is our topassister once again. His overall contribution was excellent today. Would be a huge loss, were he really to leave at the end of the season. 7

Emerson: More of the Emerson I want to see, opposite to the Empoli match. Won us a lot of balls and was both aggresive and our 'beacon of calmth'. 6+

Vieira: Ditto as Emerson, improved on his performance against Empoli. Still has a tendency of getting cards though and a little ball hoggish at times. 6

Nedved: I do think our team has the knack of performing better with Nedved in it. He himself might not perform, but the team benefits from his presence somehow. Nedved has had a hot and cold season so far, with luckily falling into the hot category today. Active in the first half and very dynamic in his movement. Quiet in the second half, but most of the team was. 6.5

Del Piero: I felt an old chemistry between him and Trezeguet was restored today, with Del Piero as the provider and Trezeguet as the finisher. DP's passes were well directed towards his teammates, especially around the box. Involved in every attack that led to a goal, and assisted one. Very active and some nice moves, especially his contribution to the 2-0 was formidable. 7.5!

Trezeguet: Quite active and scored an hattrick. His goals speak volumes. Man of the match. 8

we have no back for him and noone tried to feel his shoes had a good game from this side,IMO we need a back up for this position

can we trust Marchioni to be our starter or sould we buy Mancini with the money of Camo's sale and use Marchio as a luxury sub?

I just saw the highlights. Three lovely goals. Trezeguet took the first one superbly and the combination play from DP and Camo on the second goal was pure class. DP's assist for the third goal reminded me of the DP of old. Good stuff.

Hey man by the way Zlatan in his first scudetto coming from a very easy leaugue was the best player in the Calcio & u talk about developping this man is a PHENOMENa, but this season his form is not stable & i agree totally with this but that doesnt meen that he rest on the bench & that Dp & Trezy start every game believe DP IBRA TREZY will all play regularly & sometimes u will c Trezy out & dp & IBRA upfront we have so many games left & we need all the players & believe me IBRA will be decisive in the important games & ull see.

same toughts here exactly,but to remind you,Mutu can also play as an RM or RWM,even Zambrotta.Signing Mancini will be dream come true.if we do that also,who can stop us?it would be almost a perfect team,then only we will need a young and talented central defender.

nice one but it wiil be better if we had a better replacement for Trezy Toni for example then no team in the world could get a draw bey the most Iprtant thing is the coach I wish that Cap. sat with us coz there is no good replacements available now.
