I said it from day one, it's either Gilardino or Pelissier.

He'll sign rossi and vidal.

vidal is wc potential, rossi is wc for ALOT of italians

Considering the funds we really had, and not what fucking elkann or agnelli fags promised, thats actually quite good

Marotta: We were interested in Agüero or Rossi but the market is vicious and the prices are inflated. The budget is there to sign players of this calibre but in able to do that we had to sell some of our players. We failed to sell our players and we cannot afford increasing our squad that much. We have increased the quality of the squad in signing some champions like Andrea Pirlo and Lichtsteiner and adding depth by acquiring Pazienza and Gilardino/Pelissier. We have sold 30% more season tickets than we did last year which shows that the fans are interested in our mercato. The new stadium and working on the project will assure a larger budget for next season to work more on the quality of the squad.

maybe... but no one will buy it... he would wanna keep his job... and if Juve fail this season... he will be out... and bringing any alternative to Aguero will NOT be digested thoroughly by any fan... even the ones who want rossi... would want Aguero more... and if they fail... heck if Juve fail.. most of the people on this forum will blame him... so you know what to expect in the real world... the only reason why we wont sign Aguero is if Aguero himself rejects us... and we will know why

Good but wont get us a CL spot...we will choke... Vidal is almost the same as Melo... with no guarantee he will succeed... at least Melo has moved up a level since his first season more reliable... as for Rossi... i rate him as a goalscorer period and when the team chokes come mid-season... his confidence and form will drop to ground zero... he aint no dictator of the ball or the game... 2 completely different players him and aguero

We are taking our sweet old time with the Rossi deal as a smokescreen I can feel it. We can easily match their price for Dirty Jersey for sure, but we won't do it yet because A) Kun is still in the ropes to come here and B) Rossi doesn't really have that many suitors. We are waiting to see what happens to Tevez and in return waiting for the right time to strike. Rossi will only come when Kun is absolutely out of the question.

Joe, you son of a bitch...change your avatar back to Kun.

Quick guys, Kun tars. Now. Ready, GO!

if you want to win the race you better get a fast car, a family wagon will only get you to the supermarket and back.

family wagon = 7th place finish
fast luxury car = scudetto+CL birth.

Which do we want?
thats not a correct comparision... if you wanna stay with your race analogy, than buying aguero is buying a bigger motor while you already have a motor that is better than most of your opponents while you have mediocre clutch, steering and run-off brakes.

since championships are won by the defense and not by the attack its needless to buy another striker of that quality.

we did not crash in the standings after quagliarellas injury because we did score to few goals, but because we conceded too many silly goals. quagliarella helped "outscoring" the opponent in the first half of the season, but thats really not a tactic anyone should aim for.

if you score a goal, you are not guaranteed to win or even draw, but if you don't concede you will at the very least draw (and never lose).

let's check the games of last season after quag got injured

Chievo Verona Juventus Turin 1:1
Juventus Turin FC Parma 1:4

SSC Neapel Juventus Turin 3:0
Juventus Turin AS Bari 2:1
Sampdoria Genua Juventus Turin 0:0
Juventus Turin Udinese Calcio 1:2
US Palermo Juventus Turin 2:1
Cagliari Calcio Juventus Turin 1:3
Juventus Turin Inter Mailand 1:0

US Lecce Juventus Turin 2:0
Juventus Turin FC Bologna 0:2
Juventus Turin AC Mailand 0:1
AC Cesena Juventus Turin 2:2
Juventus Turin Brescia Calcio 2:1
AS Rom Juventus Turin 0:2
Juventus Turin FC Genua 1893 3:2
AC Florenz Juventus Turin 0:0
Juventus Turin Catania Calcio 2:2
Lazio Rom Juventus Turin 0:1
Juventus Turin Chievo Verona 2:2

FC Parma Juventus Turin 1:0
Juventus Turin SSC Neapel 2:2

in bold are the games where we scored enough goals to actually win the game.. in many cases too many conceded goals led us to drop points.

pretty much bold games, right ?

what you are basically saying is, that we would just outscore the opponent by not scoring 1 or 2 goals, but with 3 or 4 goals while we still concede 2 or 3 ? that is by no means a tactic, sir

and if you even look at the games where we failed to score and conceded 2 or 3 games you think with aguero on the field we would win those, because aguero would score a hattrick to make us forget about the defensive flaws ? we were not in those games at all and the strikers where isolated just like aguero would have been isolated and there is no way that he would make us win those matches where we conceded 2 goals more than we scored.

yeah, for sure aguero would have scored 4 goals by himself against napoli ... no problem. this is the way to solve our problems[/sarcasm]

but i guess perhaps you have to be more into the tactics side of the game to comprehend that more strikers or more attacking players on the pitch don't necessarily mean that you score more goals, because you can't get the ball from the opponent in the first place.

Just so you know, during the team presentation last week in Bardonecchia, the hosts asked the audience which player they'd like to see in Juve and they all shouted:"ROSSI!!!". The hosts joked:"Paolo Rossi?", and Marotta smiled. When your fans want Rossi, and Rossi's price is lower than Aguero's, It makes more sense to try and get...Rossi.

I think that's what Marotta is trying to do
