Bullshit, from the first second, it was obvious we arent anywhere near his first option, but that he would consider us if he cant find other options (our whole saving grace from the beginning been "only club to bid for him". How is that hard to get? He aspires for more then the team that ended 7th twice in a row in a declining league. Its a tough sell, to convince a player of that caliber/reputation to ignore reason and jump into our arms. The very reason he is leaving Atletico is because they arent competetive enough for him.
Can criticize Marrotta for alot, and I would smile if we fired him this very minute, but its pretty obvious Aguero isnt only about negotiation abilities or how big of a transfer budget we have or such, but to REALLY convince a player who wants MORE then what we are offering, to come to us. Aslong as the allure of Real and similar stature clubs are real options to him, we are hard pressed to be close to closing a deal.

And I think it is only fair now to give the Management spectators, the same way they gave us "champions." Lets stop watching Juventus for 1 year, not visit games, not even mention the name. Let there be only Marotta and Agnelli in the stands and they can do whatever the hell they want with this club. This thread needs to close, all of this talk is pointless imo. Aguero is not going to come to Juve, unfortuntely. I want to see him come here as much as the next guy but we won't pay his release clause. Rossi is going to be our new striker instead of Aguero. This thread is pointless because people just go in cirlcles talking about O newspaper said this or some website said this. This thread isn't going anywhere.
Aguero in no way deserves 7.5 mil € per year. He is no Ibra, Messi, Tevez,... Infact he was always the second best striker in a club like Atletico behind Torres and Forlan. None the less, he is a big prospect and market is pricey this days but 5.5 mil € would be the most I would offer him. If he proved himself we could talk about a readjustment of the contract for next season. Such a big contract in his first year would also damage the team spirit, I can't even imagine the discontent if he would have a hard time adjusting to the league with someonte like Matri outscoring him (Could happen).

They did document that the deal in fact had been agreed with the player? Wasn't that confirmed? I could be wrong, but from everything I heard from the player's entourage through journo friends and read on sites across the net, we had agreed terms with the player. Of course there's no way of verifying that unfortunately. But with Marrotta specifying the tax angle I'm Italy and spain while referring to Aguero, I would be lead to believe he was on course. Could be wrong Dom, but that's my take on this saga.

Lots of guessing. Marotta gets Agüero = good. Marotta doesn't get Agüero (for any reason) = bad. That's simple. However on Agüero I agree with Alen. He would come here if we really pushed it hard and no one else was serious, but only for top dollar and as a fallback choice, according to his own words. So move on.
