I think another obvious problem is that no top player wants to come to a club that "use to be" an elite football club. If I was a player I would want to go to a club that is winning trophies now and not trying to rebuild what we once had.

if he actually could dribble he would not need to use his speed as much and could just "walk" past defenders with the ball glued to his feet instead of if his peasant-trick all the time
