I would personally not favor Aguero moving here for around 30m, i think if we have to invest in that range, we have players like Sanchez and Pastore, who are established in the league and equally proven. The only predicament is that will Aguero be another Diego, if he comes?

Sanchez was always our best bet for a player who is/could become world class. Already in Italy, playing for a team with which we already conducted business way too many times (even last summer) and we could include players in the transfer.
Failing to sign players like Dzeko and Aguero is no biggy but we must do better when negotiating with the smaller serie A teams.

Got to agree with you.

But I think things got more complicated with Sanchez when Man City and Barca got involved. We just don't have the money to compete with City or the attraction of Barcelona.

We should have closed the deal much more sooner, when Barca was focusing on Rossi and Man C wasnt really interested. It sucks to see teams like Udinese pushing us around on transfer table. How times have changed.

Nah, I doubt Udinese would have sold him without waiting to see all the offers, but we still had to be bigger contenders than we are and be considered favorites even if we offer Udinese 6-7m eur less than what the non-Italian teams offer.
Teams like Udinese survive from what they get from Inter, Milan and Juve. They will always find buyers for Sanchez, but they won't always find buyers out of Italy for Iaquinta, Pepe, Motta etc. They'll have a Sanchez once in 10-20 years, but they'll have a Pepe to sell every year. For the moment they might be getting talent in South America, but soon a time will come when they'll need the unneeded youngsters from the big Serie A teams.
That's what Juve must use in their advantage when we negotiate with the smaller Italian teams, trying AND succeeding to secure those players for less than what City will offer.

It looks like Sanchez is signing for Barcelona.

Worse case scenario is us having a Quag-Matri front two, which wouldn't be horrible if we strengthen the rest of the team(CM, LW, RB).
Really? Quag Matri up front, Bastos on the wing and then what? We'd still be average.
