Buffon
Lichtensteiner-Bonucci-Chiellni-Ziegler
Melo-Pirlo-Inler
Krasic-Matri-Kun

is a lot better than

Buffon
Lahm-bonucci-chiellini-Coentrao
Krasic-Pirlo-Inler-Pepe
Matri-Quag
No it isn't. And you just put Pepe to make it worse but you can always make a 4-3-3 with Melo instead of Pepe.

For us, Aguero > Lahm/Coentrão is debatable.
Aguero > Lahm & Coentrão is nonsensical.

Now what's better? I know what I'd choose. Especially since the 4-3-3 is just an assumption someone conjured up because of Pirlo. Conte may very well still play a 4-2-4/4-4-2.

Aguero might be one in a million, but I guess there is another. Neymar who will probably still be available next season and probably for far less than 45M. We would without doubt make CL with the second team listed. We would win the scudetto if we included a great CM and Neymar the next season.

what absolute bullshit, no club in their right mind would pay that for a FB.
Well, we would. We spent around 30M on Thuram, but he was worth it. There's nobody available now that is as attainable and good as he was. People overrate the likes of Cissokho and Coentrao... they are not Thuram and Zambrotta.

I mean in comparison with a player like Aguero.

and indeed, Lilian was a once in a generation sort of a player.

But all those players are/were not the most important players in their team. The attacking players were, naturally, because the whole point of the game is to score goals.

I don't understand why people think we're going to sign world class fullbacks unless you completely overpay for the likes of Cissokho. There just aren't that many class fullbacks available.
I've been trying to say that for over an hour. :wallbang:

I put pepe because after overpaying for 2 WC full backs we wouldn't have anymore money left. either way you look at it, we wouldn't be better off.

In what capacity is it nonsensical?
You would have the best FBs in the world (in my opinion) and also a good striker in Quagliarella. Otherwise, you would have a great striker in Aguero mixed with a poor LB and a good RB. I don't even think twice in this one.

Probably you don't watch Coentrão that often and just think he's overrated, but he isn't.

Melo is already in our team, so Pepe would be more expensive than him. :)

I'm telling you that there is no way we would have that kind of money to through around on transfers AND wages.

use some sense here.

Melo could also be sold as well...and if we overpay for these two FBs you want we wouldn't have money to through around on Hazard. I feel like I am on repeat.

So it is overpaying when buying a world class full back, but it's not when buying a world class support striker? I don't understand that logic.

It is when you consider he wants to leave the club and they would have 45m to spend on a proper replacement(s) whereas 2 full backs in a market when full backs are in short supply you better believe both clubs would rape us in the fee and with no CL they would need a pretty big golden handshake to agree to come under those conditions.

The logic is, granted all 3 I mentioned would be hard to get we could more easily convince Kun to come than the 2 fullbacks. The full backs would be hard as hell to get for reasons already repeated a million times.

Well by that logic we can't get SS' that are world class also and feel the right to be at a top 4 club.
It's taking opportunities, and there are less to find a Cissokho type than there are to find a Sánchez type who are below being in the bracket of 'very good' but have the potential.
