Its about as smart as Zac subbing Diego for Candreva a goal down with 10 minutes left. Doesn't do anything for the team. It wouldn't be a step backwards, and it definitely wouldn't be a step forwards in terms of the teams quality.

Agreed.

I know he's no Zidane but remember Zidane's case? what would've happened if we had sold him after the first season? and for how much did we sold him to real madrid?
Predicting the future using the past, is not always a good idea. If you don't believe me ask the risk dude in Bear-Stearns...

I disagree, especially if the tactics is 442.

Sure but on the other hand we certainly can learn a lot from our previous mistakes.
The hardest way is if you learn it from your own mistakes and a better solution is to learn from mistakes made by others.

So you want to play something like Vargas-Melo-Marchiso-Krasic? Well they're great wingers but if we ONLY play wide then we've got a versatility problem on our hands like we did this last season where all we did was attack through Diego. Melo and Marchisio aren't the capable passers we need in the middle of that 4 man midfield.

Is Del Neri so fixated on the 4-4-2 that he's willing to sacrifice the passing AM that we so desprately needed for ages?

I want Aguero as well but there has to be a smarter way.

I agree with this.

There is, but either we get more funds, or they accept something like Giovinco.

Aguero would be SS he would drop down as we go through the middle. Wouldn't be a problem. MArchisio is decent too.

Buffon
Cassani - Bonucci - Chiellini - Criscito
Diego - Melo - Marchisio - Giovinco
Iaquinta - Aguero

That would be a dream team (maybe no Iaq though) I heard Diego wouldn't mind playing the RM position, so I thought that was a nice spot to put him. :)

Diego + Amauri + Tiago for Aguero, I'm down for it. Anyone else?
Amauri + Giovinco + money.

Have to try and keep Diego and Giovinco. It's time to put our money where our mouth is and stop talking about big players and start paying for them. If we want Aguero then let's pay for him without getting rid of our best prospects. Then we can fix the defense and I'm sure we'll all be happy.
