unfortunately in Diego we bought a player who did not fit the system we play, then we tried to adapt the system and it did not work, now we are faced with a dilemma in that we have a new coach who does not suit his formation. as much as i am loathe to see Diego go i understand why it may be necessary to get a player of class, quality and with an excitement factor that will gte people to sit up and realise we are serious
Got it in one dude.

The 4-4-2 as much as people hate it is the formation were used to and feel the most comfortable fielding. Del Piero is not getting any younger either so getting a truly dedicated SS like Aguero who is only 21(22 in June) would be like killing two birds with one stone. I feel trying to adapt Diego to being a winger or an SS next season could hurt us again.

As you said aswell Bozi a player like Aguero is recognised around the globe it would send out a signal that were back with a bang.

For Atalanta, Del Neri used Doni behind the striker in a 4-4-1-1 (which could easily translate into a 4-2-3-1). On top of that, he's said he will try and be flexible. I know talk is cheap, but if he's willing to give it a try we could adapt around quite a few formations with Diego.

With both? I can see a lot of headaches fitting them in, but it will work eventually I guess. I just hope we don't go over the odds to get Agüero with Diego going the other way, seeing the crap we have on our roster. It seems very knee jerk for an obviously quality player suffering at a team led by monkeys.

Diegos finishing this year has not convinced me he would be a great supporting striker. It's like he can't score from the edge of the area.. That is actually the last position I would try to convert him into...

I wouldn't like if we discard Diego after one disappointing season, because we know he has potential to be great for us. I would love Aguero here, but not at the expense of Diego because new signings are always a risk and he may well be a "flop". If we get Aguero, it should be for cash or other players, but not one of our most important players.

If the wage gap increases you are definetly right. But poulsen did not go to turkey bc his wife did not want to. Arshavin is not happy in London. Robinho is not happy anywhere and Vidic said he misses better weather. I don't think it is fair to say that they do not matter at all.

I do agree that premier league is more attractive than serie a , though.
I never said they didn't matter at all, I said they're not big factors in such a decision but I certainly won't write them off.

It would be amazing to have Aguero here, really would be, but at the same time it would be silly to let Diego go after one year. We should hold on to him.

Besides, are we really linked with this guy apart from the usual made up rumours?

He's not. Well there's always people who overrate players, but I think he's better than you give him credit for.

Aguero is actually a really really good player.
