Might alter their plans though, if they end up swapping Tevez for Sneidjder, they'll end up buying Lavezzi. The problem is, it might not change our priorities with Rossi. Unfortunately.
Tevez at Inter's a potential nightmare.

i'm a huge admirer of tevez. the one player i would not mind us really splashing on despite having more pressing issues in the team
Yeah man.

All go for Aguero: City agree £38m fee for striker… but Tevez's move to Corinthians collapses

Manchester City have agreed to pay out £38million for Atletico Madrid’s Argentina striker Sergio Aguero on the same day the man he will ultimately replace saw his dream of a move back to Corinthians collapse.

City have targeted the 23-year-old as the successor to compatriot Carlos Tevez at the club, and they finally agreed to match the release-clause figure in his contract.

However Tevez’s move to Corinthians sensationally collapsed on Monday night when the club released a statement saying that time had run out to complete a deal before the closure of the Brazilian transfer window. The statement said: 'The board of SC Corinthians hereby officially announce the impossibility of signing the Argentine striker Carlos Tevez.

'While recognising the efforts of Manchester City and everyone involved in the negotiation, there is no more time for the transfer to be completed, given that the (Brazilian) transfer window to sign players from abroad ends on Wednesday, July 20.

'Aware of the enormous dream of our supporters for the striker to once again play for Corinthians, the board hopes to count on Tevez in the near future.'

Although a £40m fee had been agreed between the two clubs, sources in Brazil indicate the deal broke down because the South Americans were unable to pay any cash up front, nor did they have enough time to produce City with bank guarantees that the money would be eventually arrive in four installments.Corinthians wanted to pay the fee over four years, with the first sum going to City in February 2012 after a new lucrative TV deal kicks in.

They were not prepared to take out a loan to meet City's request to pay the first installment up front because they claimed bank interest rates in Brazil are among the highest in the world.

With Tevez wanting to leave City to be closer to his daughters, who are currently living in Argentina, Corinthians were sure that the 27-year-old would choose their offer over any from Europe.

They are already plotting a new move in January, when finances will be better, but City are ready to entertain offers from other clubs.

It has been suggested Tevez would be open to a move to Spain or Italy as his family may move to a European country more culturally similar to Argentina than England.City were prepared to help their captain by lowering their £50m asking price to aid a move to Corinthians, where Tevez played for two years from 2005, but they want the full fee if he is to move to a European rival. Inter Milan and Juventus have both shown interest.

Despite the collapse of the Tevez deal, City are set to push ahead with their bid for Atletico Madrid's star man.

Aguero, who scored 20 goals in 32 games last season, had been holding out for an offer from Real Madrid but that looks unlikely with Jose Mourinho determined to sign Brazil forward Neymar from Santos.

City have offered Aguero, who is Diego Maradona’s son-in-law, £152,000 a week after tax, making him one of the highest-paid players in the world, and hope to have a decision by the end of the week. Atletico are keen to close the deal so they can find signings.Definitely on the way out of City is £18m flop Jo, who is heading back to Brazil to join Internacional. The 24-year-old, who scored just six goals in 38 games for City after his move from CSKA Moscow in 2008 and spent time on loan at Everton and Galatasaray, has flown to his homeland after accepting the club’s offer.

His arrival at Internacional could mean the club agree to sell Leandro Damiao to long-term suitors Tottenham. Damiao signed an extended contract this week, but that deal was put together to help the Porto Alegre club demand a bigger fee.

Tottenham have already had two bids rejected for the 21-year-old — the last one of £12m — but remain keen on the striker who has scored 24 goals in 29 games this year.

I hope after City splashes out 45 mil Euros for Aguero, they get to keep Tevez or swap him with Snejder. Then, they have to buy at least two more top players - hopefully all of them on fat contracts. Sanchez and Pastore, perhaps? The final move is by Michelle - he should implement the FFP rules, remove their sponsorship deals from the balance sheet approved by UEFA and force them to watch from the stands for the next 5 seasons. Then its up to the FA to gently remind them they have to be above the limit by the next season or they are going to be playing their trade in the Championship. Guess what? When you sign a 15 + mils a year contract there is NO relegation release clause!
I'd love to see the star ridden team playing their trade in second division, winning titles for the sheikh and the faithful fans(his family).

I am no fan of City, and dislike how they are finding loopholes in the FFP rules in order to continue outspending every other club in the world. Platini must see that as a direct play against his core aims as UEFA topdog, and surely he is making efforts to bring those pigfuckers into line...They have purchased their success, paying hugely over the odds for it than any other team in history. But in terms of their actual supporters, the fans, they are staggeringly well supported, and have been for many many years. Even when they were in the old Division 2, they were drawing huge crowds. dwarfing the average attendances of not just all the other div 2 teams but most the div 1 teams as well...Still, I hope they come a cropper. And I tend to look upon the players who go there as tainted in some way, lacking class, and much more football mercenaries than true lovers of the game. Perhaps at best, they can be a mixture of the two, like Tevez...who undoubtedly loves the game and is a mercenary of sorts.

More important to me personally, than the FFP rules are the rumours of a 5+6 rule, demanding that at least 5 players in all starting XIs are home grown from the same country which hosts the league. Teams like Inter and Man City would be fucked, regardless of their $$$$$.

What are the loopholes they're finding?

Also, when do these rules finally kick-in?

I think City was doing something along the lines of developing the land around the stadium as kind of a "collateral" to show that they'll eventually turn a profit/break even, thus they should be allowed to continue as they are currently. Don't quote me on that, though.

They are selling the naming rights to their stadium for 400m pounds, to some of their friends...a vastly over inflated price, which means they have an injection of 400m into their accounts for the period of the deal. that 400m is a loophole in the FFP routine.

It begins now. Accounts for the 11/12 and 12/13 seasons will be taken into consideration for the 13/14 season which will be the first season when punitive measures can be taken against clubs seen to be clearly paying no heed to the rules. However, from what I understand, a steady reduction in lossess, year on year, will be met with leniency by UEFA, so a club can get away with still rather large losses, as long as they are making moves to reduce them year by year...Punitive measures could be as severe as exlusion from UEFA competitions.

I just read on tutto Juve that Rossi isn't enough and Conte now wants Vargas. If we get Vargas and Rossi may help he get through the Kun depression. What about Pastore?? Why don't we try to get him?

Man city is everything that's wrong with sports today. I hope they spends millions and keep buying mercenaries and never win anything worth winning. (EPL CL). I will root for everyone playing them and hope they fail at every chance. F them and they're sheik owner!
