Too many people here fail to realise that a good idea can become a very bad idea if the conditions are not right. Would it it have been a good idea to disproportionately waste (not use, waste) a significant portion of our budget just to feed a fetish? No, it wouldn't. Marotta has to juggle considerations, not just the one "bring aguero here no matter what", which seems to be what most fans live by. Entering into bidding wars and overpaying for players might work in the short term but it would milk our budgets dry when every club tries to get the most out of us.

It's really amusing to observe that people here seem to think about transfers along the lines of "if you want it bad enough it can be made to come true, no matter what". Unfortunately a deal has to be done between various parties and getting invaded in the backside just becauses of an obsession with one player is bad management. Period.
very well said

Manicini to SKY, this is what he said: " Aguero? At the moment I'm waiting for the evolution of the situation. If we lose Carlos Tevez, Sergio is a player who can play at Manchester City because he is young, it's a good player, can score lots of goals and can play safely with Balotelli and Dzeko. I think eventually we will, you just have to wait a little longer "

I watched it and I don't remember him saying that much, two sentences I believe and it was different to that. Same gist but not verbatim quotes/

Yeah i read on another forum that he didn't say that, i Think it's just sky trying to make it look like Aguero is off to City, they've been pushing for Rossi from the begining.
But this what is written in their site .

What you seem fail to realize is that we already have been there and done that. We tried it with Dzeko, didn't we? And yes, no matter if you think so or not, we have to overpay to get some of the best players on this planet. Sometimes you can have a manager like Moggi and a team like the one he had (now Barca, for instance) where players will be willing to cut their salary in half just so that they can play in it(Zlatan to Juve), but when you are doing exactly what you suggested it is kind of hard to convince them afterwards. Now we have 6 strikers, all of them are 'good deals', which means mediocre players that we overpaid for anyway. Is that helping in any way? Financially at least ?
Outbidding Man Shitty for Dzeko would have meant to get him for 30 mils. That is the price of Quag and Matri more or less. But if we did so, this year we should've overpaid for Aguero as well and we would have Aguero - Dzeko in front. Then next year it wouldn't be that hard to convince lets say Hazard to join us, cause he would be thinking there is a good chance we would win the league and compete IN CL, not FOR CL. And tbh Dzeko - Aguero are nowhere better at the moment than Alex - Trezeguet were and we added Ibrahimovic to that attack...
What is really amusing is that some people here are used to mediocrity and start buying the crap marotta is selling to them. 5 years in a row we are making a financial revolution and we are worse than when we started doing it. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are splashing cash left and right and they aren't worse financially. Parma (for ex.) are always going for the great deals you are talking about, yet they are nowhere close to the richest teams in the world. In short what you are suggesting has been proven NOT to work and we have been testing it not in some other team, but in Juventus for the last 5 years. If you want 5 more - great, but I would love to see us win a scudetto before I die...

While i agree that finances and mercatos in the last few years has not been the best, in this specific aguero saga, the team has been forced to pay just too much for him. Like someone said, this aguero thing is turning more into a fetish than anything else... and even when our strikers maybe are not as good and as flashy as him, im prety sure they are good enough to get the job done with a proper midfield.

It would be okay if for example toni amauri and IQ were our only strikers.... but we have also DP matri and quag...3 players with enough productivity to compensate. SO, overpaying that much in aguero and in his salaries would most likely backfire.

Dont get me wrong i want aguero so bad in this team, but with the rossi deal seeming inminent and chelsea´s shadow behind aguero.....we can safely assume that aguero is already lost.

I wanna look at the positive side of things, and think that now juventus will invest in the midfield and the defense to complete the team.

Name a player we can buy cheaper than Kun that's as good as him...

Rarity and Demand have set the price for this commodity, Rossi is Platinum but Kun is Platinum 190 ya feel me?

Overpay by 10m for Aguero? who gives a fuck, we'll make that back in commercial boosts from his signing in one year.

How much do you think Chelsea will pay for him and his salaries? I would bet all my vCash it wouldn't be less than us. So back to square 1 - wonna compete with Chelsea or Parma? We need players that make the difference - look at Ronaldo at Real - a lot of people are saying how good Ozil and Di Maria were, but Ronaldo did it all. Just look at GOAL.COM or any site for that matter - is there a week without his picture... and the shirt he is wearing, with a sponsor logo and all...
So no - the only way we could overpay for Aguero is if we buy him and stop there. Fail to qualify for the CL and even that is irrelevant if we fail to build a competetive team. Sorensen is great, but even if Marotta does 10 out of 10 sorensens this team wouldn't be CL material for at least another 5 years.

There is no player that would suit us better than aguero, and i hate the idea that we are getting rossi also.

But we are not a priority for aguero, he is demanding real madrid wages while we are nowehere as wealth as real madrid and atletico also wants to milk us, on top of it all the own kun said that he preffers to play in england or spain, and NOT in italy. Oh and lets not forget that chitty just needs to sell tevez and aguero is theirs.

There is no business in there.
