Atletico And Lokomotiv Moscow Share Six Goal Thriller
Lokomotiv Moscow 3 - 3 Atletico Madrid
Kun Aguero both opened and closed the scoring as defensive frailties and attacking geniuses made themselves shown in Russia in tonight's UEFA Cup clash...
After a fine start, Atletico Madrid showed their defensive weaknesses to let a spirited Lokomotiv side back into the game, but eventually recovered to grab an invaluable point in this UEFA Cup encounter.
Atleti deservedly took the first goal through Aguero's (pictured) turn-and-shoot after a Jurado pass; a fine strike worthy of kicking off the action in any game.
But Loko gave as good as they got, the railway club breaking up the right, Ivanovic foxing the stunned Pernia (and not for the last time) before cutting it back for Arshavin, who rifled home an exquisitely powerful effort.
There were plenty of chances to come in the first half, but that was the extent of the goalscoring. Diego Forlan, however, capped off a fine attacking move when he beat his marker to convert Aguero's pass to a fine goal.
But then came the Russian onslaught. They looked determined in all areas of the pitch and, with the visiting defence all at sea, made it 3-2 with a quickfire double.
Peter Odemwingie showed his opportunistic streak to level after a defensive error, and then gave his side the lead with a close-range header.
Kun Aguero, though, had looked dangerous throughout, and once again left his marker in his dust to get on the end of Maniche's through ball and gently lift the ball home for a point that could prove invaluable.

glad to see that Ivanovic can handle playing with the importan games (Atletico Madrid isn't a BIG team but rather above a good team know)
