I would take Barzagli and Canna or someone from Seria A. We don't have time to wait, that Ivanović will find himself in Italy. We need someone who already understand and feel Italian football.
Look Tiago is very good player but at this moment he is lost and CR also didn't gave him a chance. So I would rather take Zapata then Ivanović, but I didn't say that Zapata is better, he just have experiences from Seria A.
Having seen how good Vidic is, I prefer a Serbian.

Juve to go stopper shopping Monday 24 September, 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reports in Italy suggest that Juventus are preparing for a January defender hunt after Jorge Andrade sustained a serious injury.

The Bianconeri’s battling 2-2 draw with Roma was marred by Andrade damaging tendons in his right knee.

There had already been question marks raised over whether the Old Lady had sufficient depth at the back and now they may find themselves putting too much pressure on youngster Domenico Criscito.

“Andrade has picked up a serious injury and we all wish him the best,” Juve President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli stated. “Before January we can work out whether we need to replace him.”

Most sources believe that Branislav Ivanovic is the likely replacement. The 23-year-old Serbian has impressed at Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow and is attracting interest from some of Europe’s giants.

Lokomotiv have valued Brankovic at around £7m as he is under contract until 2011 and there may be something of a bidding war when the transfer window reopens.

Udinese’s Cristian Zapata is also reportedly on the shopping list. The Colombian stopper has been linked with Milan and Fiorentina in recent months and could fetch as much as £8m.

German giants Stuttgart warned Juventus off Portuguese defender Fernando Meira in the summer, but that may not prevent another bid.

The three outsiders to get the call to Turin are experienced trio Paolo Negro, ex-Juve man Mark Iuliano and ex-Azzurri star Luigi Di Biagio.

so after seeing how good Shevchenko is..you'd probably also want an Ukrainian without watching him play.

well shevchenko aint all good (he's got a bad taste of clubs to play in) and its only because of him, some people(me included) take interest in ukraine and other ukrainian players.
also didnt arsenal sign fran merida from barca only because their previous experiment(fabregas) was a success.

Juventus Set To Make Ivanovic Move

Juventus have once again been linked with a move for Lokomotiv Moscow defender Bransilav Ivanovic.

The highly-rated Serbian centre back, was one of the stars of the European Under-21 Championships in Holland during the summer and has been linked with the Bianconeri for several weeks now.

Last year’s Serie B champions are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements after Jorge Andrade broke his kneecap and was virtually ruled our for the rest of the season.

Although his two replacements Giorgio Chiellini and Nicola Legrottaglie have since performed admirably, Coach Claudio Ranieri still wishes to sign at least one centre back during the January transfer window.

Ivanovic is reportedly close to signing a new contract with his club-side until 2011, however a clause has been inserted that will allow him to leave if a bid of €15m is made.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport is claiming that Juventus are ready to offer 10m right away and that the Russian club may deem this as acceptable.

Ivanovic has already revealed that he would be interested in joining the Bianconeri. When told of their interest in him last month, the 23-year-old responded, “Juve are observing me? This makes me very proud. To know that a great, prestigious club want to sign me fills me with joy.”

Buy him and play him on the right for a couple of years and when he gets older put him in the center. He's solid in both positions and can score goals à la Ciro Ferrara. I like that! :agree:

Please Secco, buy freakin' R. Carvalho.
