Maybe we could`ve signed him if Secco was faster. No one was linked with him before.Inter wanted Maniche and they signed him after 3 days.We were slow and lost another good player.

Losing the battle to Chelsea is not a reason to be worried. Inter and Manchester also failed to get him and like Turk said, we stood no chances in this bidding war.

What's worrying is that we're not moving faster. It's a fact that we can't fight the other teams financially and due to this handicap we must act faster , at least with these relatively unknown players who'll do everything for a transfer to Juve.

With players like vdV it's different. No matter how much we offer now he and his agent will still wait to hear the other offers. But with Ivanovic we should've sealed the deal many months ago when no-one even knew this guy exists.
Didn`t notice this part...Right.

we could of signed him right after the u-20 WC for 10m € or something. Instead we bought a depleted Andrade. This just shows again that we have an incompetent management.

let's hope for zapata then, in the meantime, shouldn't this thread be closed, or are you guys being optimistic that he fails his medical, or abrahamovic's oilfields burn overnight?

but it is not always about money. We need someone who can negotiate better, because in my opinion Ivanovic is just temp starter until terry is back from injury. and they are fully loaded at chelsea in defense.
Seco should assure young lad that at Juve one of the best teams in the world and better than chelsea for sure, he actually can play as a starter..that we have loads of youngsters who will grow together and other usual sales BS.
so negotiator is more important than just cheque book.
question always to ask is , would you like to play and grow or to be on a bench

Maybe we can negotiate a lot better defender in the summer like Alex? Carvalho? Who knows what are the plans of our board. I won´t be too much fussed because of this as he is not the last defender on the Earth and certainly not the best one. It was a good option though but now we can forget it.

Hey, at least threads are being reduced to a more appropriate number. :D

Guys, guys... come on. We have to give Secco and the board a chance. They made some great deals, like bringing in Salihamidzic on a free and purchasing Iaquinta. It's only a matter of time before Secco secures another great deal, and players such as Van der Vaart will arrive because, come on, who else would he join? Secco did a wonderful job not suckering into Zaragoza's demands... we don't need that idiot Milito anyway.

And hey, maybe we shouldn't purchase Van der Vaart as it may ruin Giovinco's and Marchisio progress. Give Secco time, he's young and can improve..........
Moggi actually was the one to be interested in him first, had it not been for Moggi attempt to buy him before I doubt that Secco would have gone after him. Salihadmidzic has been the only good player that Secco has brought.

    Chelsea agree deal for Ivanovic

Branislav Ivanovic is close to agreeing a move to Chelsea

Chelsea have agreed terms with Lokomotiv Moscow to sign defender Branislav Ivanovic and are set to complete a deal worth almost £9m.
A work permit application for the powerful 23-year-old Serbian, who was also a reported target for Manchester United, has been successful.
Ivanovic will now undergo a medical and the move will go through once personal terms have been agreed.
Boss Avram Grant has also signed Nicolas Anelka in the transfer window.

Ivanovic can play anywhere in defence and won his first senior cap for Serbia and Montenegro in June 2006 in a friendly against Italy which ended 1-1.
