Why is everyone $#@!ting on his decision? If I was him I'd do the same thing...

Why would I want to go play for a Fiorentina type team, and earn less than 2M a season, not play in the CL, probably wouldn't be a star.

When I can go to TFC, probably crush the league, earn 7M (More than triple of what he'll earn in Italy, and more than anyone is making in Serie A currently I believe - I don't think some people understand how much money that actually is...), and be the star of the team.

Giovinco isn't a world beater, there's no real benefit of staying in Europe. Why? So he could make the 5th striker spot for the Azzurri and sit on the bench...which isn't even a guarantee with the young kids coming up.

I don't know..I just think he made the right choice career wise.
Good point.Only De Rossi prick earns the same/little more than him with this transfer.

But Bradley is a star for US public. Kaka gets a bit over 7M and he is a superstar. Henry was just over 4M. And those are dollars, not euro.

Anyway, at least he is going away.

Yeah but you still are prying away a player who could play at a high level at most clubs in Europe. Henry, Kaka were both at the end of their careers.

Imagine if he flops, how long is his contract? Some Torres-esqe scenario would be hilarious.

I doubt it though, he'll have the status of being the undisputed star of the team like he was in Parma only playing against less-well organised defences. I'm saying that without having watched nearly any MLS in my life - if the standard of defence is better than I think it is feel free to correct me. Gio has technical ability and pace. His mental deficiency likely won't come into play as he'll be the poster boy over there.

:p yeah I doubt it too

If a near-40 Cuauhtémoc Blanco teared the league, I can't imagine what will Gio do there. IMO GK tend to suck real hard in the MLS for some reason. I can't comment on defenses. MLS teams can't stand next to Mexican teams, and there's a serious distance between Mexican teams and European teams.

I'm imagining it'll be like when you sign a cheat player to your PES 2005 Master League? Everything goes through him and he ends up with 100 goals in a season.
