So, how often is it in modern football that a club actually loans a player out their own product for years, then lets a club buy half of his past value, while his value appreciates then tries to negotiate with that club for a fee to buy the players part-ownership back at a much higher value than what it was originally half bought for?

I bought a pack of chewing gum for .50 cents, thought I didn't need it so sold half of the gum to a friend for .25 cents. Hours later I realized I didn't have enough to make it through the day so I bargained with my friend to buy the other half back...we negotiated a deal worth .75 cents for the half he had...costing me a total of a 1.25 for the gum that cost me originally .50 cents.

Who was the winner here? Me with the gum, or the guy that made an insane profit off of my stupidity?
