Parma and Juve now co-own Giovinco


It is now official that Parma have bought out 50 per cent of Sebastian Giovinco’s contract from Juventus.
The Ducali took the Italian international on loan last summer with an option to buy half the player after 12 months.

“Juventus Football Club confirm Parma FC exercised their option to buy 50 per cent of the sporting rights of Sebastian Giovinco for €3m to be paid over three years,” read a statement on the Bianconeri website.

“The operation, which takes effect from July 1 2011, will generate a profit of around €2.7m on the 2011-12 budget.”

Juve had hoped to bring 'The Atomic Ant’ back to base under new Coach Antonio Conte, but Giovinco confirmed on several occasions he wanted to stay with regular first team football at Parma.

Thanks to his campaign at the Stadio Tardini, the 24-year-old has broken into the senior Italy squad this year.

why are some people showing surprise and sudden increased criticism of Marotta??? this deal was agreed last summer, i assumed you all already knew about it, and also knew that parma would be crazy to not take the option to sign half of a player worth potentially much more than 6m, for an ultra cheap 3m. I still wouldn't be surprised in he returns to Juve this summer or next summer. The acceptance of installments affects us in no meaningful way. If we can even be considering chucking 35-45m towards aguero, the odd million or two coming over time rather than now, means very little to our mercato.

Its true, this disaster was actually signed last year, seeing its results now should not shock us.
When Marotta critics were flaming him last year for selling Giovinco for peanuts and overpaying for Martinez, the optimists were saying that we can always get Gio back if he improves and that Martinez may be proved far more useful then Gio for the left flank.
After yet another disastrous season for the left flank,what have we got here?

Confirmed maximum loses for the Martinez deal and confirmed minimum income for the Giovinco one.
They are tearing this club down and we give them more grace time...
We should indeed realize whats happening since last year, but it is not late to wake up now either.
We, as Juventini, must demand better and stop tolerating such disasters, how many more can we take?
