Guaranteeing a starting spot doesn't necessarily mean telling the guy that he'll always play no matter what. Telling him that we plan to play with wingers (4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1) and that we don't plan to buy Bastos or another LW is almost a guarantee to Seba that he'll be getting lots of playing time. Then it will be up to him to keep the place in the line-up and not lose it to Pepe or Martinez.

Like all of our players here, aside from the Rinaudo's, he's part of a squad and the in-form players should play. I'd like to see Giovinco come back and fight for a place, not for someone to tell him he will play every week like in Parma. Juventus isn't Parma.

But what are the chances of Gio playing badly in Juve? If he is given the guarantee that he'll get enough starts to prove his worth, then why will he not play well? Not be in-form? Not fight hard to keep his place?

The important thing right now is to assure him that he's not a backup player to LM as we treated him before, but treat him as a first team player, if not a key member of the squad. I think he deserves it considering his performances for Parma. We have very little reason to doubt him now.

The same as everyone else. He didn't always play well before and the same will happen again, that's normal. I think he's a better player now and worth a chance. He hasn't been fantastic for Parma, he has done well if you consider the factors; he played a free role and every week in a mediocre team, but it wasn't amazing, last season didn't make him worthy of being a starter or key player at Juve. If we are saying he's been better than someone like Pepe or Martinez then yeah, but that's another story. Those players aren't exactly a barometer of what is required for Juve. We require consistent performances with an end product, whether that's Giovinco or someone else. He's opened a door for himself and now we either convince him that we will give him a chance or we let him get on with his career and try someone else. If he just wants to stay in the provinces and be an assured starter that's up to him, but you don't become a key player for big sides because you play well elsewhere, he would earn it like everyone else.

Bringing Gio back is a more affordable and sensible decision. He use to celebrate goals from the sideline like a fan would- he needs to be at juve.

Thank fuck for that. If Giovinco is only going to clubs where he'll be pretty much guaranteed a starting spot then he'll not really achieve much unless he fights for it at a big club.

About Gio.. I don't see him coming back, but I'd welcome him back, obviously. If we intend to play him more centrally, expect a winger like Vargas or Bastos to complete our transfer window after we get some midfielder to replace Melo and foolbacks.
