I think Juventus as a club should be helping him with his strength. No doubt that people think he's talented there, he just needs a push in the right direction to match his pace up, even if we are a couple of years late to act.
I really wouldn't trust the medical staff, or the conditioning staff, to help him with anything, if history is any indication.

He'll end up with a third testicle and a second neck by the time they are done with him

Whether it is here or somewhere else, his physical limitations are what they are, unless he changes them.

All of the other players mentioned, Messi, Miccoli, are physically bigger than Giovinco, if not taller
Messi 169 cm 67 kg
Miccoli 168 cm 64 kg
Giovinco 164 cm 62 kg

62 kg for a body that 164 cm tall is a lot. If he would gain more than this it would be too much.

Espn has him at 59 kg, Miccoli at 64kg, and Lionel Messi at 67 kg.

Anyway, it doesn't matter how much you weigh, it matters how strong you are, and Giovinco is by far the weakest of the three

None of you make sense. We have Amauri to cover the entire offense, no need for Gio or Cassano. Plus we have Nick17 to give us his valuable game assessments of Amauri. :D

(Sorry Nick, had to)

Seriously though, sure Gio could have a few more pounds but regardless of his size he still produces magic, and that ladies does not come from size.

Its not the size of your worm, its how you wiggle it. (Aint that right Andy and Buerke.....:snoop:)

What magic has he produced lately? Even when he was healthy, he was barely playing. Either we, as fans, know more than Ranieiri, Ferrara, and Zaccheroni (Don't start, because most of us think that we do, in the first place), or there is something about Giovinco that they are seeing that the rest of us don't.

It all started with criticism of Ranieiri not playing him enough, although ironically, nurturing young talent is one of the things he's famous for.

Fair enough.

Then came Ciro. Hey, he was the overseer of the youth academy. SURELY he must play Gio.

Nope, that didn't happen.

Now, Zaccheroni doesn't play him now that he's healthy.

And no one can use the "well, he needs to grind out wins, and therefore he can't use Giovinco"

But if Seba is as good as everyone makes him out to be, then certainly he should be in the starting 11, and you find a place for him.

Quite the conundrum, if you ask me.

And as far as magic is concerned, I would gladly sacrifice a little "magic" in exchange for more consistency and results if he were to add some bulk. His speed was never his strength to begin with, so what is a little less speed in exchange for strength, conditioning, and having the physicality to be able to dictate play?

Seems like a fair trade off

Ciro played Giovinco quite a few times from the start actually, but then the 4-2-3-1 formation was shelved because DP didn't work in it and Giovinco got injured.

Giovinco needs a few games in a row to get going just like pretty much every other player in the world. I haven't given up on him just yet and I judge all players over the coarse of a whole season, not one or 1.5 games.

You look like you want to defend Ciro and say he did something good but not really. He was fit 90% of the time under Ciro while being constantly ignored. He played a lot less than supposed to and it all goes on Ciro's shoulders. Zaccheroni is following his footsteps it seems.

I'm not saying there's a good formation for both him and Del Piero, but he is being destroyed here from every point of the view.

So you mean that we are overrating him?
I think that in a way, a lot of people are. Don't take what I'm about to say out of context.

When was the last time Juventus had a player that was brought in through the system, from the youth squad, to make a truly meaningful impact on the team?

I'm not talking about the fringe player, or the occasional player who comes along and has a solid career. I'm talking about a true star

It has been a very, very long time.

I get the feeling that when us, as fans, happen to see a prodigious young talent like him come up, we WANT him to succeed, not only for the benefit of the senior squad, but as a positive mark on the youth system as well.

The kid comes up, he impresses at Empoli, impresses for the Azzurrini, and the hype train gets rolling.

And I think that is why this tends to affect people a little differently than other younger players over the past couple of years, because of the fact that he came in through the system.

But the thing is, we're not the only ones who are rating Giovinco so highly. Ask any fan of another team what they think about Giovinco and they'll tell you that he's an amazing player whether they are Inter, Barcelona or United fans. Go read about Giovinco in a Inter or Milan forum and see what they think about him.

It's all true what you say. I want him to success.

Though there is are reason behind it. Like last season, Del Piero couldn't play against Lecce and all eyes were on Giovinco to fill his boots. And he did it, scored a free kick and was behind nearly every attack and showed his huge potential.

But it's sure now that this club at this time has no place for him, no matter how good he is. He should find a club that really needs him and who wants to build a team around him. He's 23, it's getting time.

I disagree there, Seba was still not 100% match fit when Zacc took over the team and still had some time on the pitch even if it was only 5 minutes. While Seba was injured in the last game against Bolognia.

I dunno why, but i have a good feeling about this coach especially regarding this talent's situation.
