Yeah, that trio wouldn't work.

And also, Cassano has a bad season. He would be a gamble now and a lot of money.

We should just play Giovinco. PLAY THE YOUTH, ffs. Our club is weird.
No, we can't do that.

What we need to do is sign Cassano and that guy who got banned for two years for getting six red cards in one game. The more troublemakers on the team, the better.

Gamble, yes.

A lot of money. Not at this point. Definitely not as much as first suggested this time last year, or even over the summer.

Unless we switch to a 4-2-3-1 then Giovinco has no chance of breaking into the lineup. He only works well out wide.
If he can get stronger, then I think that he would fit in as a support striker.

The closer to goal for him, the better.

However, they need wide players who can create space, and make the fullbacks actually work for their salaries on the opposing defense

Then who is your lone striker?

Amauri, Trez?

Or are we taling about next year, when I personally don't think that either one will be in Turin
Amauri will stay I think. I did not suggest to turn to the 4-2-3-1 due to dropping Del out of the lineup. If we get a manager who is bold enough to do that then we need a new RW and a fantastic one at that.

I still see Gio as more of a wide player.

I still think that if Gio puts on some muscle, his low center of gravity could work out really well.

He has a chance in Juve to be what Miccoli couldn't, in my opinion.

But he needs to bulk up

I think when the new manager comes in, if he wants to field a formation that does not use wingers then Gio will find it hard to break into the team. He certainly does not deserve to be starting over Diego.

He can stay like this and play. He did good so far so he can only improve.

The one who needs to hit the gym is Criscito because he needs it.

If we're going to change the formation next season it should be 4-2-3-1. If we're going to play 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-2-1 that requires great fullbacks.

I think the comparison with Miccoli is pretty accurate. Both are short, young and creative as hell and both are being pushed out of the club by getting totally ignored.

I still wonder how good Giovinco could have been by now after the amazing performance against Bologna last season.

But the difference is Miccoli is a little bulldog. He's short, not small.

Gio is both.

I still think the best scenario for him is as a support striker, on a team that has wide players that basically negate the opposing fullbacks, thereby leaving Gio one on one with the opposing centre backs.

He needs space, and in order for him to create it, he has to get stronger so that he doesn't get knocked off the ball as often.

How can you say that Criscito needs to hit the gym but Giovinco doesn't?

Giovinco out wide not only has to deal with bigger and stronger midfielders than he, but the fullbacks as well.

At least, in theory, putting him in a support striker role could be less taxing for him.

I also think he should play out wide, thats usually where the smaller players play, like Messi, Lennon, Giuly etc. Giovinco as a support striker wouldn't be any good for him cause he would have to deal with the opponents big CB's and DM's. His best games has always been out wide and he wasn't that good as trequartista when Diego was injured in the beginning of the season.

Aren't we getting back to the situation though that Gio may not have the physical strength to handle such a position. Messi, for one, is a full 10Kg bigger than Gio

10 kg and 10 cm:p

Just take it like it is guys, Juventus is not the right place for this guy at this time.
Whether it is here or somewhere else, his physical limitations are what they are, unless he changes them.

All of the other players mentioned, Messi, Miccoli, are physically bigger than Giovinco, if not taller
