He did perform well. Check his stats under Ranieri.
Ok, so now performing well (which I don't entirely disagree with by the way) equals "he was great whenever he played"?

He had some good games, some average ones & some poor ones. Hell, I even think I listed a bunch of poor ones one of the previous times someone claimed he allways did well. Probably never got a reply though...

What i mean.... is that by the very few minutes he got.... he did very well.

If we compare how much he played with how much he did....we can imagine that with more chances, he would have had a very good season.

Now we have a MUCH more balanced team which can support him much better.

If im not wrong... one of the causes he wasnt used under ranieri, was because he is not good when defensive tasks are needed (because of his style of play and body) and if we remember....we had a shitty defense and a shitty midfield.... so ranieri had to stack up on defensive players with 0 skill....just to not lose games. Giovinco had no chance in there because of this.

Now we have a more than acceptable defense and a good midfield trio to help him.

You're nitpicking though and in the end it was a very productive and good season by him. At one point he even had one of the best average in assists in Europe.

Nah, the actual stats from that Ranieri season in all games were 3 goals and 7 assists in 1317 minutes.

I see. I did not realise the definition of nitpicking was refuting ridiculous claims.

Giovinco did indeed always play great when called upon.

But for my own amusement, looking at his 2nd season:
Below average games: home against Bordeaux in the CL, Away to Genoa (matchday 5), home Udinese (day 13), home to Cagliari (day 33).
Poor games: home to Bologna (day 6), away to Bordeaux in CL.
Awful: home to Catania (day 17).

That leaves us with a few "average" games, and about 4 (give or take) " good or great" games. Now that might be impressive for some people, but it's definitely not for me.

He's not a bad player, never said he was. He could even be useful to us. He's just insanely overrated around these parts.

Yes, because I have often said that those players are always great when they play :agree:

Can anyone answer the question why so many people read want they want & subsequently draw silly conclusions instead of reading actual posts? It continues to baffle me.

Because when you criticise their idol, their main defense mechanism is to make bold and outlandish claims about others players who you supposedly rate.

Maybe you took it too literally. I didn't mean his every minute was good or every game, but taking into account the few amount of minutes he got and what he actually produces I would in the end evaluate his season as good and productive. But sure, if its the phrase "he was productive EVERY GAME he played" you have a problem with then I guess thats not entirely correct.

Tss, you could have just said: "you were right." :D

For the record: I thought his first season was decent to good overall (definitely not great). His second was poor for me personally, just like it was for at least 50% of our players.

But that had to do a lot with the flawed system, bad management, bad coaching. Everything was a mess.

I really think he is skilled and can add a lot of flair to our attack, but like i said before- my only concern with him is his physical presence on the field, and that is something you cant fix solely with training.

Yes, that's an easy one. They are right, the others are wrong. :agree:
