i don't think it would be bizzare if he didn't win it when you consider that Seba was benched a lot at the start of the season and under Cagni!

and don't forget theres Balotelli who plays for the Italian League Council's favourite team.

They have basically scored the same amount of goals, and Giovinco is a midfielder who assists mostly. Even if Pato has just played half a season, its pro and con for him. Pro for him because played half season and scored good numbers, con because its just a half a season. Others get more consideration for a whole season.

But yeah, most importantly more attention and fame if you are a brazilian kid who plays for a big team.

Your prediction was spot on.. Match ratings were

Domenico Criscito 5 - Giovinco lo fa letteralmente impazzire. (Giovinco literally drove him crazy)

Giovinco 7.5 - Un assist d`alta classe cha manda in gol Abate al 15`. Poi tutta una prestazione esaltante che umilia la retroguardia ligure. Inarrestabile.
Doesn't surprise me since Criscito is shit. He should never come back here. The guy is terrible ---> Crishito

i know this is'nt the thread for this issue but i think u r wrong here about crisitico. i think he has talent and is juve material but unluckly he got sent in tooooooo soon and u cant expect a player who is just starting his seria A career to be a cannavaro from the begining of the season. we all know it takes a long time for defenders to mature so i think its a good a idea to loan him next season too and see what this guy is made of but non the less a great prospect for the future have no doubts he will quality at the right time.

Giovinco: We Can Survive

Empoli wonderkid Sebastian Giovinco says that his team-mates must believe that they can avoid relegation this season.

Empoli were looking likely for relegation until last week’s crucial 1-0 win at Genoa means they are now just one point away from safety in joint-eighteenth place.

Giovinco, who is on-loan at Empoli from Juventus, created Ignazio Abate’s only goal of the game with a superb through pass, and he believes that the Tuscans can stay up.

"The three points picked up at the Marassi are fundamental. It was important to beat Genoa and we did so with, in my opinion, great merit," he said.

"We must continue like this. We must be confident as we have vital qualities that will allow us to fight for survival. We must believe in ourselves up until the end."

Meanwhile, Empoli winger Luca Antonini is also remaining positive ahead of tomorrow’s big home clash with Udinese.

"We did well to press, attack and counter-attack [against Genoa],” he stated.

“We were solid and from the first chance that came our way we managed to take the lead," he told his club website.

"The team worked well in every department. It demonstrated great concentration and much desire to do well.

"Away at Genoa we have picked up three priceless points for our survival but now we must get a result against Udinese.

"We will take on the Bianconeri at the Stadio Castellani in front of our own fans and fight to clinch another important result."

i believe he will be acting as the playmaker for juve next season. we wont be buying no vdv or diego
That's what I have been saying all season, and the good thing is Giovinco will be back in Juve next season.

This saves up a lot of money too, which can be used elsewhere.

and what if he flops and ends up like Criscito? then we are left with no real creative midfielder, with 3 cups to play in we'd get killed... i say we MUST sign a world class creative midfielder, even if Giovinco has to start on the bench and earn his place.

Personally I think that Zanetti + Marchisio will do the job, provided that both don't get injured. Just a change of tactics will do.

I have faith in Giovinco doing well, since he is ambitious and wants to perform in a Juventus shirt.

And furthermore, he performed in every shirt he played in, be it the couple of games with us in serie B, now with Empoli or the Italian U21.
