Criscito gets called up because he plays consistently. That is your answer to Gio and the national team. He never got that consistent time, even that he produced when he was given minutes.

Diego "wasn't given a chance" either. Some of it doesn't have to do with the quality of the player as much as how they might fit or not in a system.
First argument I've heard that makes sense.

Oh, so Juventus, Empoli, and Parma are part of some great conspiracy that will not allow Giovinco to play consistently?

No conspiracy. Most good players come from small clubs that allow the youth to play. Something our club could never afford for some reason.

True enough. Swag brings the logic.

Seba performs best (by far) when he's deployed wide left in a 4-3-3 (he's also pretty adept in the 4-2-3-1). To date he lacks the physicality to really be right in the thick of things as a trequartista, I think the same is true at SS. When he has that space and freedom out wide, when he can isolate a defender, he can really use his pace and his technical skills without immediately being pushed off the ball. He can also float in some beautiful crosses. He's never had a very consistent shot (although he's had a few stunners) but playing on the left does allow him to cut in on his right foot, to get a better angle on goal.

He looks likes he's finally putting on a bit of bulk, so maybe, in the future, he'll be more suited for the SS role than he has been to date.

I don't blame him for his comments about Juventus; in fact, I totally understand those. I am surprised about the Del Piero comment... I guess I figured those two were good buddies, the way Giovinco reveres Alex (or has, in previous comments made).

"He has never said anything on me. Was there tension between me and him? Maybe he never liked me."
Just because Goal decided to add in their own part saying that Giovinco was blaming Del Piero doesn't mean it's true. Your first line is just a quote from someone at Goal who thought that made better news.

How can Giovinco not be good enough yet produce something every time he played, even if it was a few minutes? They guy always did something like create opportunites/assists that would make our mids drool over.

Giovinco hating again :howler:
You people are so fucking retarded when he played against chelsea he was good, I think he played against sampdoria in our crushing of them last year, and look now great start to the season. Oh but lets not look at our own players, amauri 1 goal......pepe don't get me started...quaq decent gio is better, shall I go on? the only two that can be happy is krasic and del piero and latter is stiff iffy imo

how did you know that part is added by Goal.com?

The entire interview is taken from Il Corriere dello Sport. If you have the Italian version, please enlighten us.

Because in the Goal article it's quite clearly part of the writeup for it and not a quote. Giovinco would hardly have said "And he has blamed..." whilst referring to himself, it's just part of Goal's interpretation.

Parma ace Sebastian Giovinco has said competition at Juventus with the Old Lady hierarchy saw his relationship there splinter.

And he has blamed Alessandro Del Piero for his less than perfect time in Turin as his career foundered.

His time with La Vecchia Signora was ephemeral. Hopes were met with hindrance as he never played, and ultimately he was forced to leave in the summer.

"Did Del Piero call me during my injury? No. He never called me," Giovinco told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"In any case, when I was at Juventus he never used to call me.

"He has never said anything on me. Was there tension between me and him? Maybe he never liked me."

To address the problem, Giovinco thought it was best to move to Parma and construct his own legacy at the Ennio Tardini.

He has recovered from a downward spiral at Juventus to reshape his identity with the Ducali.

"I am getting back to my best form. It was important to come back against Roma. It gave me good signs. I have a good relationship with the coach too," he added.

"Am I thinking of Juventus? No. Zero. My present is Parma and I want to think about this. The rest doesn't count."

No please stop. Those players suit our team, Giovinco needs to grow and not just arrive in flashes because his game is tactically limited and he needs to find his proper role as a player. Wide in a 4-3-3 seems the most likely.
