Diego "wasn't given a chance" either. Some of it doesn't have to do with the quality of the player as much as how they might fit or not in a system.
True enough. Swag brings the logic.
Seba performs best (by far) when he's deployed wide left in a 4-3-3 (he's also pretty adept in the 4-2-3-1). To date he lacks the physicality to really be right in the thick of things as a trequartista, I think the same is true at SS. When he has that space and freedom out wide, when he can isolate a defender, he can really use his pace and his technical skills without immediately being pushed off the ball. He can also float in some beautiful crosses. He's never had a very consistent shot (although he's had a few stunners) but playing on the left does allow him to cut in on his right foot, to get a better angle on goal.
He looks likes he's finally putting on a bit of bulk, so maybe, in the future, he'll be more suited for the SS role than he has been to date.
I don't blame him for his comments about Juventus; in fact, I totally understand those. I am surprised about the Del Piero comment... I guess I figured those two were good buddies, the way Giovinco reveres Alex (or has, in previous comments made).
