Giovinco is suffering for two reasons.

1. Diego - giovinco's best position is that in the hole behind the forwards. many can say that he is fragile and wouldnt be successful in this role, but at the end of the day, its where he plays best.
I have to disagree here. He was fairly successful as the left side forward with the Azzurrini, in the 4-3-3... he had the freedom to roam a bit, and slide under the forwards at times. He's played his best games for us as a left side attacker as well...

I'm someone who believes that he doesn't have the physicality to play the trequartista position. The few times I can remember seeing him play there, he wasn't particularly effective.

When he plays the left flank as an attacker, he's better able to used his speed and agility, and it's easier for him to take defenders on, because the space he's attacking isn't as congested. It also positions him well to whip in those nice little crosses of his...

Given Diego's presence, a 4-3-3 doesn't make a ton of sense, but realistically, we have pretty good pieces for 4-2-3-1, and Seba would fit nicely on the left side of the 3.

The formation we used today was ridiculous, and didn't play to our strengths at all. A pathetic display, really...

He should be a regular starter judging by the rest of the team. There are no excuses for his time spent on the bench.

He'd get more time in a team like Arsenal or even Barcelona.

What a summer this was here in my country where Giovinco owned everything. I remember watching this game with my friends and all of them left loving Giovinco.

(Second goal, look how he toys with our defenders)

I want explanations and I want Tuttosport to start a campaign for Giovinco.

look to the second goal and you will understand why we should play a player like him in this awful team.. he created a goal from a dead a ball.. this goal should be named for him not for aquawater! any way i will hate my life if juve became without Del Piero, Camo, Giovinco and Buffon. no more joy to watch!

Maybe Arsenal but not Barca.
I think he would have played a lot for Barca. They don't have that many left wingers besides Henry and with him not being as good as he used to be and with the fact that Guardiola gives young players like Pedro and Busquets the chance I defenitely think Giovinco would play a lot on the left for Barcelona, more than he does here anyway.

If you had to pick, who would you rather start? Amauri or Giovinco. You can't have both...who would it be?
One can't score headers, and the other is Giovinco :seven:

...but seriously, not really a comparison. Gio won't start over Diego or Ale right now. The system being played currently would not suit him anywhere else on the pitch IMO. 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 would allow Ale-Diego-Gio all to play.

one thing I have wondered about is, why doesnt any Journalist simply ask "why the hell dont you play Giovinco?"

I mean, why arent the papers making any questions and accusations against the coach? (Zac and Ferrara)

4-2-3-1 is our only solution, regardless the players used.

I've thought about that too. I mean, they consider Giovinco as one of the biggest stars in the future for Italian football with Santon and Balotelli but its weird that nobody even asks the coach about it especially when we're struggling so bad right now.

Or just... "Why don't you try a 4-2-3-1, the formation you ran over a few teams with earlier in the season?"

But I guess Camo's absence would be the main reason to completely ignore the only somewhat succesful set up.

Do they still consider Gio as such? I'm not sure of that.
