Bold:

No, it's not. In fact, it's where he wants to play and he's said it on numerous occassions.

Underlined:

Sorry, your size does not decie where you should be placed on the pitch. That's absolutely ridiculous. You play based on your abilities, not your height or weight. FFS. Giovinco's abilities, playmaking, excellent vision, passing, speed, makes him an ideal AMF.
Hmm, obviously it does in Giovinco's case. He is not playing in the same way this year as last year.

Sounds about the same age that Michael Owen won the Ballon D'Or.

Roma were really the perfect big team for him with their off-the-cuff style, but I don't think there was enough big club mentality about Cassano. Perhaps he has matured, but just because he is on form doesn't make him a changed man. One bad turn and he may be crying like a baby again. For that reason I wouldn't want him at Juventus. Before you consider that I am a Giovinco fanboy or Cassano hater, I chose him and Aguero as my favourite non-Juve players in that thread.

I also don't think Cassano is the difference between Juve winning the CL and not. Cassano has had what, one successful international tournament (Euro 2004)? So what makes him a banker to do the business against the very best sides? The teams who have been doing well in the CL of late are either the pragmatic Man Utd and Chelsea or Barcelona who play an unmatched passing style, Cassano fits into neither category. Juventus already have a risk factor to their play, the players and Ferrara have acknowledged this and it is why we give up so many chances and are giving Buffon so much to do, also why Moggi considers Juventus will not win the CL. I hope he is wrong of course, but see where he is coming from.

He wasn't called up in 2006 because he was an absolute maniac. His limited time in Euro 2008, he performed well.

Would Cassano be the final piece to the puzzle? probably not. Would Juve's chances increase dramatically if he were here? Probably

He is right. If Juventus can't give one of the biggest talents out there(Best player in U21 championship in Sweden this Summer) then why would anyone else join us? We need to believe in our talent.
Name me another big club of our stature who gives so many chances to young players? Wait, Arsenal you say? Arsenal haven't won anything for four years or been close to the title for about as long. Juventus are sticking to the plan of youngsters and champions. In another thread Andy said other big clubs don't loan out their players - which is also completely wrong - so we should abandon the youth system. Perhaps we are comparing the example of all our players to Lionel Messi, the current best player in the world? The youth system is not just for providing players to play in our team, the best ones will get a chance, others will be sold and generate money.

One can only imagine.

how was the calciopoli ? i bet it was fun.
There are still people here who claim that juve did nothing wrong, that the rest of Serie A was out to get them.

Yeah, that's good footballing sense. Send the most prestigious club in Serie A down to Serie B just for the sake of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

It is very similar to baseball and teams that have all of these great prospects in their farm system.

Sometimes you keep them to play on your team, but more often than not you package them in a trade to get an established star

No, not because Ranieri didn't play him there. Because he left our left back position a little too exposed. Also, we has Molinaro then need I remind you.

Other teams? Name a team that has a player with absolutely no defensive qualities playing on the left wing of a 4-4-2 formation. It's a matter of footballing principle, not of coaching competency.
Yeah, we all agree on the fact that Giovinco is not made to play as a winger in a 4-4-2 cuz he lacks defensive qulaties.

Cristiano Ronaldo played in a 4-4-2 with United without tracking back to help out defensively.

Anyway, forget 4-4-2. 4-3-3 is the ideal formation for Giovinco.

But how do you know that for sure?

They never played in a 4-3-3 last year, and there are no signs that they will do it this year

If Giovinco's best position is as a support striker, regardless of what formation they are playing, aren't we just going back to the original argument?

Who the better player is, Giovinco or Cassano?

You are confusing me now.

How could there be a lone striker in a 4-4-2? Wouldn't that, in essence, be a 4-4-1-1?
Yessir. :D

City plays SWP, Manure plays Nani who doesn't do anything defensively, hell Arsenal played Bendtner on the right wing for Christ's sake. There are similar situations at other clubs.

I wouldn't use the straight 4-4-2 anyway because I don't like it. Much rather use the 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2.

I'm going to have to come back later. I'm still at work and could get in big trouble for this.

Good debating, one and all.

Even though I know I'm right :D

Again, No wingers in 442 its ML/MR. Winger is more of a rule then a position.

Manure didnt play typical 442, it was a custom 442 so CR wont have any defansive duties. he practicly played as a forword.

4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 is the formations I can see Giovinco playing in.

How I'm sure? You can never be totally sure but we all know Giovi can perform offensively on the wing but not defensively so therefore 4-3-3 should fit his playing style better.

No, Yank as in Americanoooo....................

I fucking hate the Yankees

I'm really treading a fine line here, boys and girls. You might have to put up a collection to pay my next mortgage payment.
I know what you meant by Yank and the baseball argument is:

"You're an American and know nothing about football, go watch some baseball instead."

I've seen that on these forums at least a hundred times.
