4-2-3-1 OR 4-3-2-1 = Starter.
4-3-1-2 = Bench.
4-4-2 = Office Boy.
:agree: and i don't think he can play del piero's role from what i've seen from him as an SS.

Gio's situation is pretty tricky, he's a great playmaker with great vision yet we have Diego to play that rule.

If its my choice, when Del piero retires i would play Diego in he's position as an SS (great goalscoring record plus he's great in the box) while Giovinco has a better vision and passing + speed in a way he's similar to Kaka (with less physical strength).

Next season is the real deal, he either breakthrough and finds himself a place in the team or leave the team if we can't find him a place in the starting 11. He can't simply sit on the bench ( believe its a crime to leave him there)......

Well I agree Diego has the charesteristics but I still don`t think Diego would fit in DP`s role

also I would like to see us playing with 2 strikers which is kinda tricky since like all of you I want to see Giovinco play regulary
the only formations comes to my mind are: diamond 4-1-2-1-2 with DM RM LM AM (not the one we would probably use as we probably use with 2 cm and no RM LM) then Gio could play as LM there is also 4-2-2-2 kind of risky 2 cm 2 am (Gio and Diego) there is also the 3-4-1-2 where Gio could play LM but with 3 men defence it is unlikely

which means it is highly unlikely Gio would play unless we plan a 1 striker team or actually moving Diego up (taking a chance) as Gio probably won`t fit as a SS

Gio should play like Messi on the left side beating his defenders. I dont really see him as a trequartista like Diego, Zidane or Deco playing behind the strikers. He is fast and should play on the flank just like Messi.

I agree. That is why he would fit in a 4-2-3-1 formation on the left side of that attacking triumvirate, or in a 4-3-2-1 as the 2'nd SS behind a main protagonist in attack. Either way, he won't be required to track back and defend, thus eliminating the stamina issue. However, I still think that Gio needs to hit the gym in the summer, and improve his stamina.

he wants a sketch of a formation not an in-depth discussion of the players roles because every single player has a more complicated role than just a dot on a pitch.
