He possibly didnt, or just got too frustrated and gave up after certain point, but still, a one of our youth products who should have done more and gotten more out of this, and its generally an unfortunate outcome considering how promising it all started, to hate him and piss on him constantly is just retarded.

I agree with the first part but not the second. If anything Gio looked too eager when he was playing. He also tracked back a lot and made some good tackles whenever he could. He just never fitted any of our systems and it is as simple as that. A player like Gio needs a team built around him or to suite his style of play for him to play well and sadly he isn't talent enough for us to do that. I always thought he was much be suited for a team like Arsenal or one of the spanish top teams.
What really killed his career was the pussy defensive aproach all our italian coaches had. 4-4-2, 3-5-2 defensive bullshid and the parade of useless coaches didnt helped one bit. Of course they decided to loan him since coaches didnt had the balls to play him on the wings.

Then he came back the defensive bullshid continued. At the beggining of conte´s first season he would have shined in the 433 Conte used before the dreaded 352.

He was not superstar, but im 95% sure we fuked him.

I don't think his career was necessarily "killed". He could still play comfortably at teams other than Juventus. He chose TFC for the money and the snow but it's not like he couldn't score goals for Fiorentina or some other decent side.

“I'd like to thank the club and those who came to welcome me at the airport,” the new No 10 said, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“I want to repay this trust on the pitch. My objective is to win with these colours and make history with the club.

“I left Italy because I had many problems there, in the sense that I was always spoken of as a player who couldn't play at the highest levels.

“But I always showed with the facts that it wasn't so. I wanted to find a city, a team that from the first day wanted me like this organisation has done. And so my choice was spot on.

“On my new adventure, I can say that I am a person and a footballer who can adapt to all situations.

“Together with my new teammates and my Coach we'll find the best solutions to do something great.”

Toronto's general manager Tim Bezbatchenko praised Giovinco and looked forward to what he would bring to the club.

“He can help us find continuity in our work, since we're talking about a player who is only 28-years-old.

“And having him in time for the pre-tournament phase is very important for us.”
