Whoever told Giovinco he needed to score more goals really fucked him up.

He's now entirely focused on trying to do something he is never going to be much good at.

When he first appeared at Juve, he was an interesting creative forward. The creative aspect of his game has regressed sharply - and that was what he was actually good at and what could have allowed him to have a career at a high level.

Yeah, his talent was that eye for the assist and splitting defences. He could make play, like I had never seen a youngster do. His passing looked extremely promising. I still remember his debut assist.

To be honest, I had rarely seen a young player look as talented as him. He was head and shoulders above the rest of his class (the azzurini of his generation). He flew through defences, when he played with the young italy squad.

Firstly when Giovinco moved here he kept going on about how he liked to play closer as a forward rather than a trequartista type player because he likes to score goals. If anything he added the pressure onto himself along with the fact that he now plays for a big club, as i pointed out earlier he is nothing but a provincial player, if he really was as good as some thought he is then why does he rarely start for Italy? failing that even make an impact for the NT, i mean when you have diamanti and a half fit cassano chosen ahead of giovinco he is clearly not all that he is cracked up to be.

I'm afraid he'll go down in the books as a 'What could've been' and 'if only' player.

If only the coaches had the faith and patience to allow him to play roaming on the left of a front three all those years ago.

On that point, have you seen the amount of times Gio will run at a defender stop and give a failed cross?

The boy can't create for shit atm, I'd be have minded to play him on the left of a three with Vuci on the right just to get something...
