Parma retract confirmation of Giovinco-Juve move

The Gialloblu stated on their official website on Tuesday afternoon that the Italy ace would be departing the Tardini this summer, but have now backtracked on that claim.

Parma have denied that Sebastian Giovinco has rejoined Juventus - just a matter of hours after announcing the attacker's return to Turin. The Italy international's agent revealed early on Thursday that the Gialloblu had agreed to sell their 50 per cent stake in the player back to the Bianconeri, who co-own the attacker.

The transfer was later 'confirmed' on Parma's website but the club have now issued a second statement on the matter, insisting that no deal has been struck for the forward.

“Parma announce that contrary to what appeared for a few seconds on their official website, they have not reached an agreement with Juventus for their share of Sebastian Giovinco," read the post.

"Fcparma.com apologises for the incorrect statement.”

Giovinco is a product of Juve's youth system but after struggling to nail down a regular berth in the first team, the Turin native was loaned to Parma ahead of the 2010-11 Serie A season.

After a successful debut campaign at the Ennio Tardini, the Gialloblu then enacted their right to acquire half of Giovinco's registration rights the following summer.

The 25-year-old enjoyed an even more productive second season with Parma and his future has been the subject of much debate in recent weeks, with both Inter and Napoli also having been linked with the Azzurri ace.

I seriously cannot wait to see him getting consistent minutes under Conte :)

The Giovinco of two years ago deserved more time to show the qualities he has but didnt get it, but he was a more raw player who wasnt totally sure of his role in a team yet. To say the least, we are getting a quite different player to the one we loaned out/co owned. His last 5-6 games for Parma especially showed how he has grown as a player. Should be intriguing to see that same progress with the RIGHT shirt on this time.

Yeh,
even then he showed that he deserved so much more.....

In fact...we had a lot of games with nothing to lose if we tried him,. but no.... he never got the chance..... he always was used in the minute 75 to do some miracle after a whole game of uninspiring performances and defensive play.

He simply was not meant to be with us in those times.
I stillcant believe that no one was able to force our coaches to use him....... unless there was a major reason to not do it (him being lacking in defensive capabilities and ourselves having an already weak team defensively).

Now, he has a few monsters behind him, to support him and give him the space and the opportunities his gameplay demands.
If conte can canalize his playing and also teach him to track back, to run,, to press opponents.... he will be a solid starter for our team in no time.

I cant wait for the 1-2s with Marchisio (they used to do it alot in Azzurrini, if anyone remembers, I think I watched every single Azzurrini games of theirs :D)

And even more, something he improved alot in, making smart runs into channels, and now having maestro like Pirlo deliver through balls to him (and hopefully Verratti next year) instead of likes of Morrone.

Setting aside the preconceived notions and character judgements and what not, as a footballer, do you guys find it interesting to see a player who offers these kind of particular individual qualities in our team? This clip unlike most others shows normal plays/moves, not just goal highlights or moments that end up in goal or assists etc. Needless to say I seen him play consistently for 5 years so I know more then I need to know about him as a player, but for those of you havent seen him play in a long time (more then a couple games a season I mean), good refresher:

Looking forward to seeing him in our current team especially more so because we need players who try to break the predictable pattern we can have, and had in most of our draws, where it tends to be give Pirlo the ball 90% of the time, or just just make aimless crosses into the box hoping for something. More players taking initiative with the ball more then needed.
