If football wasn't so popular in Italy, Calciopoli and maybe even this betting scandal wouldn't have happened. It's just that it's more important than life and football scandals are a brilliant way to divert the public's attention from the actual problems in the country. With so many corrupted politicians and economic problems, they will never hesitate to give the public something else to play with. And what else can do a better job than a football scandal?

Just because they are fighting against corrupt games? Calciopoli story it's the different story, it's up to Inter and their people , Juventus should have stayed in serie a no matter what happened and of course you can't send club to serie b just because some people in their management had telephone talks with referees

I still remember episode from 2000/2001 season when Roma had won serie a title and Franco Sensi has gifted a 75k euros watches to every single referee

Are they really investigating or just reporting the Tuttosport article?
Once again, the purpose is not to investigate, not to stop freud from betting, this makes too much money.
They just want to sell papers and harm us as much as possible.
Nobody will pay in the end, perhaps the ones who didnt comply to their orders...

They might find a victim and force/pay it to claim that we knew of what was happening and they will bring all the relative names that can be connected to us,
the ones who brought us down are still running the circus.
But in the end, nothing more will happen, harming our image is enough, as its the seer purpose.
Doesnt matter of the damage it will bring to the whole league, or that not any game is connected with us. It never did.
If they achieve to defame us enough so a top player wont join us, thats an extra bonus.
But thats as far as this can get...

It's rather interesting seeing how differently these things are playing out in Italy in Scotland.

In Italy, the Press can't wait to put the boot into Juve - the biggest club in the country.

In Scotland, the Press has its head so far up Rangers' arsehole that they couldn't/wouldn't see what was going on. Virtually all the big stories coming out in the current Rangers situation have been broken by bloggers or non-Scottish journalists. The odd story that has come out through the mainstream media has come from investigative journalists, because sports journalists are too scared Rangers will survive and will make life difficult for the rest of their career.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that's how the coverage has gone there.
