If all those teams got demoted, the league they go to would be better than Serie A and we'd have a harder time getting players than say, Fiorentina :shifty: They'd get more money frm sponsorship and TV rights as well. That's be funny in a sick way.

The chief prosecutor has talked about the possibility of Calciopoli part 2. I think this is just a load of hot air and nothing will happen.

Great, just great. When you think that Serie is getting back on track (Milan winning the title is one) to pre-calciopoli days another scandal happens. Fuck this shit.

    Signori denies match-fixing

Former Lazio and Italy star Beppe Signori was interviewed by police in the betting scandal and denied attempting to fix Inter-Lecce.
The now retired striker is the most famous name in the group arrested by Cremona police with regards to an alleged betting ring around Serie A, B and Lega Pro.

He was interviewed for an hour by police this afternoon and did not speak to journalists, but his lawyer left a statement.

“Signori replied with a definitive 'No’ to the proposal of fixing Inter-Lecce on March 15,” declared Silvio Caroli.

This is one of the games around which there were unusual betting patterns and wiretapped phone calls.

However, the bets were on at least three goals, whereas Inter ended up winning only 1-0.
