What a great couple of days...... Celtic totally outclassed by Barcelona in front of their own fans and Samaras not getting a penalty right at the death for a pathetic dive... typical celtic cheating... im glad he was booked for diving. Aberdeen were humilated 5-1 in Munich.. im glad they wont be in a position to embarass scottish football next season.. the dons were plain awful.. so on the same night trust rangers to fly the flag yet again with a superb draw in Greece aqt the same stadium Aberdeen were humilated 3-0 earlier in the season. Aberdeen and celtic out of europe and rangers through all in the same week. SUPERB!!!

Actually, I have a much better idea. This guy was banned twice and he did not learn. I think it is time for the one way ticket.

German beer was awesome, especially the white beer rather than the lager. I just wish I could remember what it was called.

Didn't make it to the place you said because we spent most of the time in the beer hall most of the Dons were in which was just beside Marienplatz.

Indeed, and we could have scored more in both games. We were denied a penalty at home and had a dodgy offside against us in munich which would have made it 2-1.

What was dissapointing was that 3 of Bayerns 5 goals came from set pieces, rather than good bits of play by them.

I have also come to the conlusion that, after the referee's performance, if Poland are invaded again they are on their own. No way they're getting any help after that pro-German display of refereeing.

I think the Polish ref was bribed by Moratti to make calls in favour Bayern, as he knew you were part of juventuz and deserved to suffer, disgusting, should be shot :D

    Aberdeen Announce Man Utd Game
Aberdeen have confirmed that they will play Manchester United in July in a match that will bring Sir Alex Ferguson back to his old club for a special anniversary encounter...

SPL outfit Aberdeen have today announced that they will host Manchester United in a summer friendly match at Pittodrie Stadium.

The pair of Reds will clash on Saturday 12 July, with kick-off at 15:00 BST in the 22,199 capacity former stomping ground of Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

The match will mark the 25th anniversary of the Dons winning the European Cup Winners' Cup under Ferguson.

The Aberdeen fans were treated to some timely nostalgia this season as Jimmy Calderwood’s current crop of Dons made it to the last-32 of the Uefa Cup, beating Copenhagen 4-0 and drawing 2-2 with Bayern Munich at Pittodrie.

Sir Alex’s trophy-filled reign at the club, though, is unlikely to ever be emulated. He joined the club after a brief spell at minnows East Stirlingshire and immediately set about releasing Scottish football from the stranglehold of the Old Firm.

He won his first of three league title in season 1979/80, before bringing home the Scottish Cup in 1982. Then, he wrote his name into the Scottish hall of fame, beating Real Madrid and Bayern en route to lifting the European Cup Winners' Cup.

Announcing the anniversary visit of United was Tom Smith, chairman of the Gothenburg Greats Testimonial Committee.

"The Testimonial Committee are extremely grateful to the directors of Manchester United and to Aberdeen Football Club for their kind support and for their co-operation.

"It is a tremendous gesture from Manchester United which will benefit both the Gothenburg Greats and Aberdeen.

"Manchester United were always our first choice for obvious reasons. To have the biggest name in world football coming to Pittodrie in July is a tremendous coup.

"Manchester United have been extremely helpful since our initial contact and I would particularly like to thank both Sir Alex Ferguson and Ken Ramsden, company secretary at Manchester United."

So what are you making of the latest stuff coming out of Hearts, Bozi?

37m in debt and looking to spend 50m on a new stand? Doesn't look sstainable from the outside.

Then Romanov feels the need to come out and say how committed he is to Hearts.

I've stopped trying to make sense of it all.

    Fair enough.

Wetting yourself with excitement at the race for the top 6?

Not too fussed about it personally.
you lot getting teh win makes it interesting,if we beat killie next wek both you and falkirk need a win to claim a top 6 spot so could be a good game.
though for both of us though,i am sure you will agree,it really is not good enough to be attempting to scrape into the top 6:faq2:

as for hearts and our debt i know it may sound bonkers but the 50 mill for a new stand is the only way we will ever cut our debt. tynie just is not big enough and does not have adequate corporate facilities, with a hotel, gym, etc we will be able to increase our revenue streams by anywhere up to 6 mill a year.

froma personal point of view i love tynie, think it has a great and unique atmosphere but i would happily move into a purpose built brand new stadium and be in less debt. if it is good enough for teams such as arsenal, liverpool, etc then i do not see why we cannot do this. does anyone of my fellow fans think we are more attatched to gorgie road than liverpool are to the kop? would have been a better idea imo

Aye, Aberdeen are in a similar position.

Our debt is around 12m, but the only way for us to get debt free is to sell Pittodrie and move to the proposed community stadium.

And if you win next weekend, we need to win by about 8 because your goal difference is much better than ours.

tbh IF we win then its only really falkirk i feel we need to worry about! goal difference is better than yours but we need to win by a few and right now we are not creating a hell of a lot, we have become hard to beat again but we are lacking a cutting edge, its interesting but for all the wrong rweasons

well congrats for scraping into the top 6 my man, personally i am glad we have suffered such a poor season. getting into the top 6 would have been papering over the cracks and now everyone at the club will know that big changes in the playing squad, attitude and direction of the club are needed.

could be the best thing to happen to us IMHO

    Maybe.

In some ways I fear that us getting in to the top 6 might be used to disguise our many weaknesses, though being in Europe so long made our league form suffer.

Still, Aberdeen's first trip to Hampden in 8 years on Saturday.
