Not the ones i know, they all seemed pretty certain that Roy Makaay, Saviola, Appiah, Riquelme would be joining them this summer and even suggested Torres might sign for them. I mean seriously why would these guys ever come to Scotland!!!?? its the same with rangers fans thinkn they could get Pizzaro. No team in Scotland could afford the wages for these guys. Although the shopping is good in glasgow so maybe their wives could have played a part :p

er...Boksic...I think your mates were having a laugh behind your back or summit, mate:disagree: I live in Little Ireland and no one seriously thought any of these were coming:rofl:

...as for the wags, yes shopping is good in Glasga...i can just see Saviolas' burd buying fake LV bags at the Barras:smoke: or Riquelme getting his Argentinian corned beef at Asda Partick

hahaha!

all i know is that everytime i have seen celtic their fans only started singning for 5mins after they scored then remained quiet for the rest of the game.

none more so than when i went to the Scottish Cup semi-final this year and St. Johnstone's small support managed to out-sing the 3/4s of hampden that was filled with celtic fans. and i wouldnt call the saints fans the most vocal in scotland

sadly it can happen these days...I just can't understand it...60000...and at times you can hear a ten pence piece fall, and twenty people shoutin' that's mine yas bas

Hey Juve Red...any update on the wee twankie's outburst with your steward guy?
Nothing new since the refs report isn't out yet.

Celtic will appeal the sending off and probably win.

Seems a whole lot of fuss about nothing. Pathetic that the steward got involved at all and the fans shouldn't be dishing out the abuse if they cannae take it.

I kinda agree with your summation...deflected the press away from a good Dons performance and three good Celtic goals, but from my perspective Pendrey should have been more mature, and Strachan should have left well alone...he should know better considering that he is currently appealing a similar situation.

Still, a steward should have left any complaints to those nearer the scene rather than climb down twenty - thirty steps and demand Police action - even if he was outraged - there were police, the forth official, and plenty of Aberdeen team officials near the technical area, to point out any Celtic digressions:disagree:

also...who was the old geezer at the front...Billy Dodds suggested he was a well known supporter (he was wearing what looked like an official jacket...and a jaggy bunnet too...which didn't look official ) whose sole task was winding up the oppositions management team...he seems to have been instrumental in this ...any truth in this?

The guy in the front row seems to have been giving a lot of the abuse but he was wearing the sort of 'official' jacket you can buy from the club shop. He seems to be an ordinary punter who gets his season ticket where he can abuse the away bench. Pretty sad really.

Apart from the rights or wrongs, it seems very foolish of the Celtic bench to have reacted, particularly when they had just won the game. Feel this is now typical of Strachan who seems to lack any real class and is going a long way to get rid of any lingering popularity he may have had around the place.

Truth be told..again...Strachans perceived here as too smart mouthed for his limited managerial abilty. He can never answer in a dignified manner without some attempt at showing his quick wittedness (if there is such a word)...may make a great after dinner speaker at smokers nights...but not good for someone representing what we see as our clubs dignity:disagree:

as for the fan...know many like him...supporters of all clubs have their doofers

Two stories from Auntie for those who are interested:

:Brewster tipped for Inverness job

Craig Brewster has emerged as an early favourite to succeed Charlie Christie as head coach of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, BBC Sport believes.
It would be the 41-year-old Aberdeen striker's second spell in charge at the Caledonian Stadium after a 14-month spell there that ended in January 2006.

Christie's assistant, Donald Park, has already been ruled out the running.

Inverness will draw up a shortlist, with another former boss, John Robertson, in the club's thoughts.

Robertson, who recently took charge of Derry City, ended his two-year spell at Caledonian Stadium in 2004 after being enticed back to former club Hearts.

Brewster had also been persuaded to end his time at the Highland club by a return to Dundee United, where he lasted nine months before resuming his playing career at Pittodrie.

Maurice Malpas, who parted company with Motherwell during the summer, is also being linked with the Inverness job.

Caley Thistle's board will discuss their strategy when chairman Alan Savage returns from a business trip abroad on Tuesday.

The Scottish Premier League outfit are likely to draw up a shortlist of three or four candidates.

They are keen to appoint a successor quickly so the new manager can target new signings before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Strachan could get 10-match ban

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is facing a possible 10-match touchline ban after his dismissal on Sunday.
However, he will have to wait for the case of his sending off during April's match against Hearts to be heard before any new punishment can be imposed.

Strachan contested that four-match suspension and the Scottish FA have yet to organise a hearing for his appeal.

That was for a second offence within three seasons and a third offence would result in a further six-match ban.

Strachan was ordered to the stands by referee Stuart Dougal on two occasions in Celtic's matches against Hearts last season, in August 2006 and in the 29 April game at Parkhead.

Dougal is unavailable for Tuesday's scheduled hearing, which Strachan requested to appeal against the mandatory four-game ban.

At Pittodrie on Sunday, Strachan was ordered to leave the pitch-side by referee Charlie Richmond following an argument with an Aberdeen official.

The SFA expect to receive Richmond's match report on Tuesday.

Coach Tommy Burns claimed Strachan had been defending his assistant Garry Pendrey following accusations he had made a rude gesture to the Aberdeen fans behind the dugout.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell would not go into detail on the issue, but said of Strachan: "We back him 100%."

Brewster may well go to Caley. I'm not bothered either way really. He can leave as long as we sign a replacement.

There is no way an Old Firm manager would ever get a 10 match ban, even if he had done something seriously wrong, which he clearly hasn't in this instance.

Rangers fan are a bunch of animals and, as a general rule, among the most disgusting groups of people around.

p.s. My Mum is a hun.
there are fans like them in every team. hibs fans are some of the worst i have ever known, bunch of bitter, twisted troglodites. guy in the paper who called his kid "junior hibernian kyd" the kyd meaning not a famous hibs legend but a dundee player who scored the 2 goals that helped deny hearts the title in 1986. i mean FFS how sad is this guys existence that he cannot enjoy his own clubs (limited) success and needs to glory over another teams failings more than 20 years after it happened?

not all are this bad, i have a few mates that are hibbies and we get good banter and my best mate is a rangers fan, but the numpties are much more prevalant
and Aberdeen fans arent biased in this view :p

Thats a terrible story AngelaL, and always disapointing when some mindless idiots lets down a whole set of people. I am in no way condoning what the guy did but i would say celtic fans are just as bad as rangers ones. Both are extremely fickle, deluded, and tend to only sing when they are winning (especially celtic) :disagree:
one of the things i always loved about tynecastle is its "unique" atmosphere with the suuporters right on top of the team. however,it has become a morgue at times lately and the nervousness is starting to affect the players. too many people bought season tickets after our cup success and do not seem able to get behind the boys unless we are winning, who would have thought it, glory hunters at tynecastle:oops:

This must be great news for you...but don't forget to change your undies before you go out tonight to celebrate
too late, they were crusty as hell this morning

had teh best laugh ever when i was watching scum-sport (walker and stott are an embarrasment) and the fan-texts going along the bottom had "torres for celtic" then nearly pissed myself when the rangers fan txt in saying he thought "rangers should go for buffon"

must have been silly season in glasgow that day

It's amazing how vocal fans of the "smaller" teams can be. They probably have to shout louder to make up for them being fewer in number.

That's true! The SFA are biased. They would think nothing of doing that to a manager of any other Scottish team.

As you say, there are good and bad in every group of fans, but I've never had any real trouble with fans of any team bar Rangers.

I'll be there. I'll be taking some disinfectant for the seat though, cos it is where Celtic were sitting at the weekend.

That 2nd string Scotland team is far closer to the team I would choose to play normally than the proper team.

aye but at least there is merit in naming a child after a player that was an inspiration to your team, someone who stayed and scored many goals for them, or saved many shots,etc...however, to idolise a shite player who had 1 good afternoon in his career against your biggest rivals is pretty sad and is a good indicator of the level of damage alchohol did to his brain. i would maybe understand if hibs had not won anything since we were denied the title on the last day of the season, but they have won 2 wee cups since then.

i mean if i had a kid and was gonna name him after someone, i could name him duffy, after the hibs manager that got them relegated, or i could choose any one of the players that have won the scottish cup in 98 or 06.

anyway had to get that off my chest......oh aye and yes! Troglodites, each and every one of them:p

now you know why Superman wears his on the outside...maybe he's a jamb tart too:shocked2: :
couls be that he is a jambo, or he might just not be properly potty trained yet, and sits in a puddle of his own piss half the time. kinda like a celtic fan on giro day:oops:

aparantly both torres and buffon were in glasgow for signing talks, torres was blown away by celtics stadium but was worried he could be traumatised by the sight of gordon strychenins pubes

looks like a decent team but once again it looks like a centre half as a DM:disagree: why cant we just have the confidence to attack teams?

hmm!...not enough Celtic players in there for my taste...:p
