man hearts game yesterday was excruciatingly painful, gretna came for a draw at best, they were time wasting with 35 minutes still to play and celebrated like they had won the league at the end.

stil we should have beaten them easily and until we get bednar, pinilla, cesnauskas (the only really good litho) back match fit then we are gonna have a lot of trouble breaking teams down. at this moment in time we could not score in a brothel with the kesys to romanovs bank vault.

worse still is the form of young lee wallace, looked like he could be a really cracking player when he broke through but so far this season his positioning has been awful, his distribution terrible and his decision making shocking, i would have put jose goncalves in there half way through the hibs game.

on the plus side andy drivers goal was an absolute beauty, larry kingston is back and stewart is finally looking like he is ready to fulfill the promise he showed at old trafford. but until we get fit strikers or buy someone in we are gonna struggle

All the reports suggest a dour game...but one Hearts should have won easily.

As a tic man I hope Romanov keeps his keys in his pocket till next weeks games over:tup: Don't want any scoring against the bhoys now.:p

Just in from Pittodrie. For almost an hour we were great, totally dominated Celtic but couldn't get the second goal we needed and deserved.

Our team clearly isn't fit as with 20 mins to go we were knackered, pre season in Egypt has backfired big time.

On the plus side, Strachan got sent off for reacting to abuse from the fans. :p

Big improvement from Hearts game but we will keep on shipping late goals until fitness levels improve.

Good, strong first half from Aberdeen.

There was soo much wrong with Celtic you could have written a dissertation about the poor management tacticts and leadership deficiencies.
The back four insisted on the long ball time after time, completely bypassing the Celtic midfield.
Aberdeen passed well and kept the ball much more effectively than Celtic.

It wasn't until the 'tic got the ball on the ground that they started to find their way through the Dons defence...and after that there was only gonna be one winner.

Strachan was red carded for an argument with a steward.
Garry Pendry was involved with the crowed [BBC and Setanta}...when Celtic went two one up he signaled two with a V and this stand steward supervisor demanded the police report him...Strachan got involved and he was the one the fourth official reported to the ref

i'm more of bear than anything else, of course Juve are my first love. Then St. Johnstone who are my dads team. Rangers are my local team who my brother and all my friends support, so they are the ones i look at in the SPL.

Excellent...just want to know what you think your chances are this season?:faq1:

Although its early days, it seems Walter has steadied the ship and a few new faces at Ibrox too.:agree:

...and what about Europe?

The league will be close, but Celtic will win it.

Celtic are designed to outplay teams with a fast and technically good midfield.

Rangers are built to win games by bullying and outmuscling the opposition ( see signings of big donkeys like McCulloch, Cuellar and Cousins)

Rangers only chance is if Smith keeps up his record of almost always beating the nice but dims.

great news on the JT front with the anouncement of the stadium plans. a £51m cash injection(more debt or will there be another way to fund it?the UKIO Bankas stand anyone?) to take tynecastle into the future. looks very impressive and all i can say is i creamed my pants at this.

however mr romanov has always had the tactic of making a major announcement right before hitting us with a sucker punch. so expect news to filter through of a truck-load os sub-standard lithuainians arriving at tynecastle to try and win a contract. those not deemed good enough to play for hearts will probably form the core of the construction team

I'll believe you are getting a new stand when the building is finished.

Is it this year or next year you need to win the Champions League to fulfil Romanovs promise when he took over? :D

    Hey AngelaL, hows it going?:eyebrows:

Problem with Rangers, or just more Scottish footie fans in general?:
Not bad thanks! I had so much runnig around like a headless chicken when my mum died that I didn't have time to grieve - it has hit me now though.

Rangers supporters! Generally they are loud, aggressive and always cause trouble. Their nickname "the bears" is appropriate if you mean the grisly and not the teddy bear variety. There have been incidents that made my late father keep me away from "the bigot brothers", but the last one was the last straw for me! It's a long story! I was about 15/6 at the time. Because Rangers were playing a local team, people were not allowed to park their cars anywhere near the ground. So when my uncle, cousin, father and I went to visit someone who lived near the park that day we (like everyone including supporters) had to park in an old shipyard. On our way back to the car, I got separated from my family in the huge crowd of fans from both teams. All of a sudden, someone behind me put his arm round my neck and pulled me backwards. As he did so, I saw his other arm was raised and he was about to strike me with my fist as he said "Ah ye *********......"
Fortunately for me, 4/5 people grabbed him and pulled him off me. It scared me a hellava lot, I can tell you. One of the guys who "freed" me gave him a mouthful for attacking "a lassie". He apologised, but I doubt he would've if the other men hadn't been there. I don't believe for one minute that he couldn't have known. I was wearing no football colours as in scarves etc. I was wearing a red jacket, denim jeans and black high heeled boots. My hair was long. I was carrying a handbag. Even then he couldn't tell?? Pull the other one!

I think Rangers have done well to strengthen a very poor and thin squad on a small budget. They now have 2 or 3 players for every position which will be helpful to them over the long season. I think the signings of Cuellar, Cousin and McCulloch look good.
Strachan had the same problem when O'Neil left Celtic, but it didn't stop him winning the title...Rangers could do the same.

What do i think their chances are?your asking the right rangers "fan"!because i am more of a neutral than most deluded old firm fans who think their team can challenge the big teams in europe both in terms of signings and on the pitch.
Let you in on a secret, but don't tell anyone I told you or its my ass...in private, with no one else listening, Celtic fans will admit that they can't emulate the likes of Real Madrid, Barca, etc in term sof signings and spending power, but can manage to grind out a goaless draw here and there...:agree:

I think the title race will be very close and IMO Rangers signings are better than Celtic's (apart from Scott Brown) but rangers were further behind celtic. However, celtic always seem to scrape results when they play badly, something rangers havent been able to do in recent years and this could be crucial for them in the title race.
Well, with the number of goals Rangers scored in the last ten minutes on Saturday things may have changed

In Europe, i think Rangers would be doing very well to qualify to the Champions League, people seem to think because they are playing a team from eastern europe they should win easily. But Red Star continually produce quality serbian players and will be very difficult to play against in Belgrade. Should they get into the group stages it would be like Celtic, qualifying from the group would be the aim but the draw would play a major part and they would have to be lucky to do so.
    Agreed:tup:

When they use it, it looks good, but the long ball from the back four makes it pointless at times to have these good players on the park

Both are extremely fickle, deluded, and tend to only sing when they are winning (especially celtic) :disagree

    :

EEEXXXCCCUUUSSSEEE ME!...if truth be told it takes Celtic to go a goal down at Celtic Park to get the crowd singing these days:cry:

...most of the time its like a library compared to what it was four/five years ago:disagree:
