There was a fantastic refereeing display from Dougie McDonald yesterday.

Aberdeen players were getting booked for their first foul, no matter the seriousness.

Hibs players putting in 'tackles' that could have been straight red cards got a warning and a wee cuddle.

Couldn't have seen that coming.

What's your injury/suspension situation for the cup tie, Boz?

Diamond and Aluko are injured and I think Lee Miller and Foster are suspended for us.

According to number of cards, perhaps.

None of Aberdeen's red cards have been for anything half as bad as what Lafferty got booked for yesterday.

yep, know what you mean,we seem to get a large percentage of our red cards due to teh fact we are Hearts, therefore we must deserve it. 3 red cards that we received were in the tunnel after the Hamilton game,a game that teh ref spoiled as a spectacle, sent Stewart off for nothing(but hey at least he admitted THAT was a mistake afterwards) then refused us the penalty that would ahve earned us the point our 9 men deserved with the look of "fuck you lot,i have sent off 2 men,you are getting nothing from me"

i am far from a conspiracy theorist, but sometimes you get the feeling that you are NEVER gonna win the game, especially when Dougie "the Hibby" MacDonald is in charge. we actually have an abnormal percentage of losses (cant remember where i seen it) with Dougie in charge, something like 70% of our games with hi are losses

I have, in the past, been willing to assume the refs are incompetent, rather than having a particular dislike of Aberdeen, but this season really pushing it.

Did you see St. Johnstone's equaliser against us when Deuchar assaulted langfield? No free kick there, but Fortune's goal agaisnt the Huns was disallowed with minimal contact on the 'keeper.

The inconsistency is breath taking.

yep,i still like to think they are all incompetent but it does get wearing, couple weeks ago against Dundee United.young forward Scott Robinson breaks down the wing,Gary Kenneth realising he is done for pace takes both hands and shoves him in the back,we all wait for the whistle...nothing,we look at the linesman, who is less than 5 yards away...nothing

we protest

young Robinson keeps his feet and stumbles on,kenneth rams to hands into his back AGAIN,again nothing from either ref or linesman. at this point Robinson finally loses possession (and balance) Stewart comes in and puts in a "firm" tackle, linesman flag goes up,ref blows whistle, i look at my mate and laugh at just how blatant it is sometimes

Thats the thing, there is no bias, its just incompetance and a lack of consistency.

You look at Lafferty's challenge yesterday and it is far worse than what Kevin Thomson was sent off for against Hearts earlier in the season.

I think Stewart's reputation goes before him nowadays. Refs see him going in wholheartedly and think he is over aggressive and call the foul.

the standard of refereeing in Scotland is awful

Kenneth got done by Fyvie on the wing yesterday and Fyvie was in a good position to cross or drive in on goal, but is barged over by Kenneth.

We get a freekick but no booking.

In the second half, Kenneth gets done by Mackie and trips him. Kenneth was pretty much last man and could have got a straight red, but instead he got his first yellow card of the game.

Pawlett was brutally hacked down by three different Utd players, one of whom was booked, but the ref made it clear that was for persistent fouling.

Pawlett catches a Utd player late with his first foul of the game and is immediately booked.

Aside from the dodgy red cards we've been getting, the reffing has been highly suspect.

McGhee got it spot on with Kerr's red card against the Huns when he said there were twenty tackles like the one Kerr got a second yellow for in that game.

Funny how only the one that could result in a Dons player getting a red card actually resulted in a booking.

Ho hum.

Aye, 3-0 away at Hearts.

You Mancs need to get sorted out. Huns are too busy watching their back when they're in Aberdeen to have time to smash up the place. :p
