In theory, Hibs are the Catholic club and Hearts are the Protestant.

The ties to politics and religion are pretty minor compared to the Old Firm, though.

XX wrong answer

there are no strong political OR religious ties to either Edinburgh club other than the fact that Hibs were started by a bunch of Irish monks,Hearts fought for Hibs inclusion in the Scottish football league and both championed Celtics inclusion.

there are however a minority of supporters(from what i can see mostly young laddies) who carry Union Jacks/tricolours to specific matches but they are absent for 95% of the season.
the funny thing is i know a lot of Hibs fans...but only know 2 Catholic Hibs fans...and they are my sisters

all of my Mums side of the family (including my Uncle who is a proud Mason cock) are all proddies and Hibbies. my dads side all Catholic Jambos..

there is no place for religion in football for the majority of Hearts or Hibs fans

None better.:malt:

When you get married, you should make sure your sisters that support Hibbs are bridesmaids & wear dresses with the Hearts logo all over it.

I don't know why but i immediately thought of Elvin & Maher at the maroon bit.

They really wore maroon dresses? How did that color scheme work out?

Maroon is great colour.

So, the refs are threatening to strike and there's talk of League of Ireland refs being flown over to Scotland for the weekend.

It's all part of Celtic's scheme.

The ref strike is almost entirely Celtic's doing and now they may get Irish ref's?

It could hardly have worked out it a more satisfactory fashion for them.

sorry Red!Hearts 5-0 aberdeen and your team are a shambles, the only plus point for you is that Brown will get them organised

i was in the Roseburn bar but since the only picture i have seen of you was a long hair and scraggly beard i have absolutely no idea what you look like,i caught a glimpse of someone who might be you as i was on my way out the door,if it was you are taller than i imagined. next time we will be more organised
