@Boksic, did Bougherra play today?
Yup and looks like he is going to be staying at the club, which is quite an achievement if they manage to hold onto both him and Davis given their financial problems.

Although I suspect Davis may leave as he didn't play yesterday.

Hope your team get thumped today :D

But I have a feeling Hearts will have a good season, especially now that you finally have a striker.
good result for the Saints there, not too fussed at dropping the points, when Elliott and Kyle get fit,Johnsson, stevenson and Driver get back in the team we look a pretty decent outfit

What like were St. Johnstone when they played Hearts, Boz?

They played 4-3-3 with three big strikers against us and I haven't seen a team play such a dedicated long ball game as that in years.

Fortunately, we were playing a back four made up entirely of centre backs, so we were able to cope pretty well with what they threw at us.

i was a biy let down by Saints, there was all this talk about them being a good passing team, wanting to play football, they pitched up at Tynie and threw long ball after long ball and seemed to be happy with a draw after 15 minutes.
still we should have broken them down, fair play, their game plan worked

That was a very foolish thing to do.

Don't back us at home much this season. The team will be much more comfortable playing on the break away, rather than trying to open up the sort of packed defence we face at home.

Foster - Velicka swap deal with the Hun. Both on year long loans.

Very odd.

We now have a lot of striker and very few full backs.

If he stays fit...

Aberdeen must be getting a good deal on who pays what wages, because we'll need to sign at least one player (Basey will almost certainly join to cover left back) to replace Foster.

After much chin stroking and some heated debate, I reckon Fyvie's injury has resulted in us ditching the 4-2-3-1 and moving back to a 4-4-2.

That's the only explanation I can come up with for this deal.

Bad luck on Wallace getting crocked, Boz.

Just looked like he took a kick at the time.

At least Hearts should get some sort of compensation since it was a Scotland game he got injured in.

Vujadinovic and Velicka unveiled at long last.

Looks like Velicka is wearing a Hearts top under the Dons shirt.

aye its a nasty one, thankfully initial signs are encouraging that he may not need surgery and could be back in 12 weeks, but Hearts injury record is worse than Juve's so that probably means his career is over

As bad a reputation as Aberdeen strikers have had ove recent years (Mackie and Miller in particular) I don't think our strikers' conversion rates are too bad.

We struggle to make chances.

I've no concerns about Velicka's ability, just his fitness.

he does not have to be that fit,he is a natural goalscorer and will score from half chances

Rangers have leta gem fall through their hands

Decent game between organised, committed sides.

Diamond's failure to deal with Kyle was the difference between the sides.

Kyle, like he did with Kilmarnock, gets away with a ridiculous amount. He could have been sent off within the first ten minutes for twice leading with an elbow when going for high balls.
