Even before the WC I hated totti so much, that Trap just can't make it worse. In my case, naturally.

Well ,denco, I think it`s Trap fault. Everybody (almost) here hate Totti bcoz they believe that Totti`d taken DP`s place at the Italian squad. the same thing happened in France when Maldini chose to play DP instead of Baggio. What happened to Baggio in the past , happened to DP few weeks ago.
I hate Trap & I think he`s the responsible one of all what happened.
It might have contributed but its not just Dp's fans that don't like Totti and lets be honest, Dp will always be more popular than Totti, and less so that Baggio imo

Well, I don`t knowwhich one is the most popular. As a girl , I see most of my friends love Totti more than DP. I think both of `em are qute but if I was to pick one I`ll choose Totti for sure;). I don`t fancy DP much honestly. after all, It`s my personal opinion. I may have loads of ppl who don`t agree with me.

2 seasons ago, Totti was in his best form and Dp wasn;t and there was a vote to find out the most popular player in Italy and Dp won by 55% of the votes to Totti's 45%. I saw a clip on Eurosportnews last season which stated that Dp was the most recognised player or person in Italy, overtaking Ronaldo

His grandparents lived with the family when he was a child and the grandpa was very sick. So his grandma and parents sent him out as much as they could so he wouldn't see the pain :frown: And since he spent soo many hours in the streets he found a hobby.

That's a touching story, but I've heard it before, and it is mostly untrue.

Really? :irritate: Tell us the true one then?
There's no need to be irritated with me, I've just heard that his grandparents did live with his family, but that his grandfather died when he was two.

    Glad to be back:touched:.

    I like this topic.

The reason I don't like Totti at first is just because he is so arrogant as well as Romario although we can't disaffirm their talent. Totti has many valuable quality at highest levels such as ball control, visibility, flair, determination, shooting, passing.

However, he cannot attract me who loves beautiful football as Alex does. What Alex does in the field are what we just can call manificience. He has the beauty in his skilful something similar to Maradona or Zidane. Yes, that is his strongest point of him. And it is what makes people love them. How could I love him when I see him play gently, smoothly, see him touch the ball finely or see him make his opponents become silly and dull by his dribbling skill. More and more that I can't say and I only know that it is simple becaue he plays a type of beautiful, attractive football. Something that Baggio, Maradona, Cruyff did.

I don't hate Totti but I couldn't idolize him. Totti is just a normal Word Class player for the current time but Alex is great.

I'm not irritated with you, but with the possibility that the story is not true

Right, I've looked for proof either way, but I can't find any.

I'm with Martin on this one.

I have actually never seen really great, I mean outstanding things from Totti. (NA - for you aca :D)

Ok, there was that derby. But we have to keep in mind that he played against a Lazio defense, that I never saw THAT weak. I mean Nesta was lost - they sucked completely.

Totti has the ability to play accurate long balls, he has a good shot and more or less good freekicks/crosses, but that is not enough to label him a world class player IMHO. His dribbling is not very good (when I compare him to ZZ for instance), he somhow lacks some ... magic.

Totti is a good player but he is definitely not what people make him to.

I think people often choose someone and call him the best, even if this's not true. They just want him to be like that. It's clearly a mistake.

I have never seen him score from a freekick. And if you take the World Cup into consideration, it took him like 8 attempts to hit the post...

He can pass a bit and he can shoot from outside the box. And the latter very well actually. But a slightly limited repertoir that is.

Well to be labelled world class nowadays, you dont have to do much actually, just be from the correct country e.g England, Italy, Brazil and a lesser extent France, be good looking, able to do a few tricks and you are world class while some people have to play outta their skin just because they are not from the "in country"
