I hate and love the idea of Eto'o coming here. Could still be really lethal in a counter 4-3-1-2, playing off Tevez with a pacy TQ behind them. He's still pretty quick and he gets into loads of good positions, even in Chelsea where he was used as a lone striker, which has never been his force, he excells when he gets to move around more like he did in the Inter days.

Funny thing is, I think Osvaldo was a good move. He didn't do as terrible as he was made out to be, his wages were feasable and we practically didn't have to pay any loan fee.

If we would have bought him, abysmal, but this way, it was aight.

To be honest, this is better to do in a practical way.

We bring this "experienced players" to be like our secret weapon in games our main dudes are just not cutting it.... but truth is, this 4th or 5th striker never plays. And when they do, is because the coach feels some kind of misery for them and let them get some mins.

Better just to promote a guy from the primavera just in case we need to use a 5th or 4th striker.
Yeah i know but srsly none of bendtner Anelka and Co did cut it for us. We seem to sign those washed up strikers every year

I concur. Plus, the fans had a new scapegoat to pour out their frustrations for half season.

Paratici called Samuel Eto'o & offered him a 1-year contract at €3.5m + bonus. - GDM
3.5m eto'o + 3.5m evra

guys we can't afford any wages we are so poor

in any case I guess it wouldn't be so bad because he could maybe actually bring something to the team

For our '4th choice' striker role he's ok, but it seems like we just add a throwaway option each summer, because it's hard to keep a good striker in this role for more than a season. It might be someone who only plays 15-20 games (inc. as sub), so at least with Eto'o (Osvaldo also had potential to do this) he could put together a small run of games where he makes an impact.

The salary is simply because it is one season and with no fee, similar to the Evra deal, which suggests the budget is being used elsewhere.

As a player he's obviously finished at his very top level, but he's different to what we have.

hm, has he really become that bad?
i´ve watched a good number of chelsea games (mostly with one eye) and imo he did very well in most of them... sample size is relatively small, so maybe i´ve only watched his good games?

stats look good as well:
PL: 9 goals and 5 assists in 1300min, including goals against liverpool, manu, tottenham and arsenal
CL: 3 goals and 2 assists in 524min

didn´t look all that slow to me either and therefore he could play in a 43_2_1 as well, couldn´t he?
someone enlighten me please ^^.

This guy kept asking my wife out before we were together. She had no idea who he was until her brother pointed out he played football. Could've been married to a millionaire and missed her call!

I don't understand this model of either buying young players or going for cheap players far past their peak. Can't see it working to be honest, looks more like a tactic of a team from a small league with a bit of cash to spend. Unfortunately it sums up the direction not only juve but serie a is heading towards.

 Oh my God, that can't be right. That is 7M Euros in wages blown on two players?

Oh my God. Where are they getting all this money from?
